Revision History
This is a web application allows you to access the whole information about Online Bank Management
web application, readily scalable and adaptable to meet the complex need of Blood Bank who are key
Facilitator for the health care sector it also support all the function of Blood Bank Blood is a necessary
element in human body. Without blood human body is incomplete. According to the scientist about 7 to 8
percent of human weight is comprised of blood (Soissons, 2018). In conventional way blood is donated
via blood donation organizations or blood bank. Blood bank is observed as an area wherever blood is
gathered as a results of the activity of blood donation by donors that is stored and preserved (maximum
twenty-eight days) for later transfusion. Most of the blood banks in Bangladesh don’t support online
blood donor’s database. In countries like Bangladesh blood a huge amount of units of blood is donated on
average every year. According to statistical study in the year 2011 about five-lakh unit of blood was
recorded as donated in Bangladesh the value of which increased to seven lakhs in following five years
(Molla, 2017). It is a clear sign that blood donors are on the rise along with the increase of population.
Due to this huge amount of data of donors an automated and efficient way of data management is to be
introduced for which online platform of blood donation can become a pavestone. Besides blood
management problem occurs due to traditional techniques of data entry by manual operators where there
is a risk of data to be outdated and data retrieval process is also hampered due to it. Owing to solve all the
issues the study is done on an automated blood bank

1.1. Background
<Online Blood Bank Management System is a web-based system used by the hospital blood
bank or blood center. The system serves as a medium for public to increase them
awareness and to promote the importance of blood donation especially in saving lives.
The system also provides many functions for the hospital staffs to manage the blood
packets and campaign that have been created. This system also has an ability to keep
track of donor records and the status of blood stock in the blood bank. The system is
also able to alert the donors about the critical blood needed by broadcasting the
message to donors about the case. The goal of this project is to computerize the blood bank management
system in a
hospital blood bank in order to manage the records of blood donors, blood donation
campaign announcement and broadcast message about critical blood demand to
donors.>

1.2. Business Opportunity

The people in need of blood can search for the donors by giving their blood group and city name.
it saves time as he can search donors online without going anywhere. Using this system user can
get blood in time and can save his relative or friend life. Our website work 24x7 so user can get
information of blood donor any time. Blood donor can also get registered and save life of other
person. The main benefit of this system is the information of available blood group. When blood
is need in the operation then people have very less time to get the blood available so if he gets
the information like who can give him blood in time in his city is lifesaving. And here our
system work, whenever a person need blood he get information of the person who has the same
blood group he needs.

1.3. Business Objectives

 To provide for the Online blood bank to publicize and advertise blood donation programs
 To allow the probable recipients to make search and match the volunteer donors, and make
request for the blood.

 To improve the efficiency of blood stock management by alerting the blood bank staffs when
the blood quantity is below it par level or when the blood stock has expired.
 To provide an efficient donor and blood stock management functions to the blood bank by
recording the donor and blood details.

1.4. Success Metrics

A successful blood management process works through an evidence based approach that
optimizes patient safety and improves management and outcomes through measurable
enhancements. Such an effort also can result in hospital or blood bank cost savings. However,
the creation and implementation of a comprehensive technology-driven blood bank management
program requires an investment with the right mix of resources — including support at the
highest levels, leadership, and staff education and empowerment. While no two institutions are
alike, there are many common challenges to overcome. This paper will help demonstrate the
benefits derived from a technology-driven blood bank management program.

1.5. Vision Statement

Currently, the computer-based in online blood bank management has not used in
Ethiopia. Mostly, it is done manually. The first problem is to search for blood
donation records. Staffs of the hospital have to search one-by-one and it may take a
lot of time. Besides that, the paper records can be lost or undefined. Donors also faced
the same problem for their donation records recorded in Certificate. Secondly is about
location of blood donation campaign and planning. Donor usually heard the location
for blood donation campaign from friends or family and cannot plan well for next
donation. The staffs of the hospitals are having difficulty to make report for total
blood packet by monthly basis. Missing and duplicate blood donation information
records make the count inaccurate and this will be problem to detect critical blood
demand.

1.6. Business Risks

A true business case of technology led blood bank upgrades includes a well-etched discussion of
the risks and potential challenges of program implementation.
The findings of this study will redound to the benefit of managing the information in blood bank
and also it will allow the hospital to take decision if they want particular type of blood by
publishing advertisement in the home page of the system. Furthermore, managing the blood bags
in the blood bank will be much easier because each blood bag has an information about the
donor and blood type and the expiration date. Also, doctor can use this system to serve blood
bags to their patient.
The main advantages of the system are:

1.7. Business Assumptions and Dependencies

The researchers assume the following Assumptions:
Internet connectivity: - is needed for the online blood management system. Internet speed may
affect the perception of the systems users with regards to the system effectiveness and efficiency.
Blood transfusion should be performed by medical or professional doctors only. The over-all
safety depends on the success of the medical operation.
The researchers identify the following Dependencies:
There is a significant difference in the level of blood transfusion safety between manual-based
and online blood bank systems.
There is an increased level of blood transfusion safety in using online blood bank management systems
while there is an increased risk when using manual-based one

2. Scope and Limitations

Scope
The scope for this system is divided into four (4) which are administrator scope, blood bank staff scope,
donor scope and location scope.

2.1. Major Features

My site also helps people who are in need of blood by giving the details of the donors by
searching, if at all there are no donors having the same group and within their own city they will
be given the addresses with phone numbers of some contact persons in major cities who
represent a club or an organization with free of cost.  If at all the people find any difficulty in
getting blood from the contact persons we will give them a Mobil ink i.e., Ethiopia ’s Largest
Paging Service number through which they can give the message on every one’s pagers with the
blood group and city they are living in, such that the donors who view the messages in their
pagers having the same blood group and the in the same city, he contacts the person on phone
who are in need of a blood.  Such that the person gets help from us which saves his life.
The present project elucidates the following features.
–   Registering the Donors
–   Modification of Donor Information
–   Searching a Donor
–   Life Saving Contacts (in major cities)

2.2. Scope of Initial Release

< This project will benefit both side, the administrator’s side and the user’s side. First, it will be easier for the admin
to manage all the details that needed to be manage. The admin can manage easily the profiles of those who wants to
be a blood donor. It will also be convenient for the admin to check those who inquire for blood needs. This system
will make the work of the admin a lot easier than the face-to-face handling of blood transactions. Secondly, through
this system, it will be convenient for those who want to be a blood donor, who are in need of blood, who want to
check for available blood types, to have a transaction online. Users can communicate transcendently. Lastly, both
side can save time and hassle by just using this system.>

2.3. Scope of Subsequent Releases

The proposed system Online Blood Bank Management site overcome the drawbacks of the present
system. The Blood Bank helps the people who are in need of a blood by giving them overall detail
regarding the donor with the same blood group and within their city.

2.4. Limitations and Exclusions

This project aims to provide a platform for the administrators and the users (both blood donors
and to those who are in need of bloods for transfusion) to have a transaction that is hassle-free,
faster, credible and reliable.

3. Business Context
The blood bank management application has been designed in such a way that it suits all types
of blood bank. It can be implemented in small or big blood banks for automated management
system. IN the emergency condition, sometimes it becomes very much difficult to look for the
exact match of blood group of donor and acceptor. It may lead to delay in transaction of blood
within the specified amount of time and a serious accident may take place.

3.1. Stakeholder Profiles

Online Blood Bank management system is to provide services for the people who are in need of
blood by getting help from the donors who are interested in donating blood for the people. There
are main modules in this system.

3.2. Project Priorities

The facility of the Online Blood Bank Management System (BBMS) has been designed to store,
process, retrieve and analyze information concerned with the administrative and inventory
management within a blood bank. All the information pertaining to blood donors, different blood
groups available in each blood bank and help them manage in a better way would be available
here. The aim of the BBMS is to provide transparency in this field, make the process of
obtaining blood from a blood bank hassle-free and corruption free and make the system of blood
bank management effective. Information about the blood donation camps and camps organizer
