II. RATIONALE
December is the most joyful and happiest month of the year.  It is the season of
rejoicing and thanksgiving for this provides us the opportunity to imitate and live out
the virtues which the Lord exemplified during His life here on earth such as huminity,
simplicity, and obedience.
But due to the magnitude of destruction and displacement of people brought
about by the series of typhoons and earthquakes worldwide, for some, this season is a
time of sorrow and mourning for the loss of properties and loved ones. Many are
saddened for they don’t have shelter to go home, food to eat and enough money to buy
presents for their family. Yet, still this is a season of great joy and a time of healing for
this season emphasizes the spirit of giving and sharing.
Pursuant to Region Memorandum No. 22, s. 2019 entitled “PASKOMUNIDAD
(ONE SOCCSKSARGEN: Sama- Sama sa Pagbangon Para sa Edukasyon)” the
Grade 12 Advisers and Teachers of Alabel National High School decided to do an
alternative way of celebrating Christmas by simple yet meaningful activity through
Adopt-a-Community Project that will benefit the 50 identified less fortunate families at
Prk. 12 Barangay Kawas. Through this activity, students with their parents can make it
more meaningful by donating any goods to the less fortunate families rather than
holding expensive, lavish, and lucrative students’ christmas party and exchanging of
gifts.

III. OBJECTIVES
General Objective:
This activity design was finally made in order to conduct “PASKOMUNIDAD
(ONE SOCCSKSARGEN: Sama- Sama sa Pagbangon Para sa Edukasyon)”
through Adopt-a-Community Project.

Specific Objectives:
a. Celebrate Christmas Season through simple but meaningful activities;
b. Express the spirit of giving and sharing to less fortunate families; and
c. Give joy and happiness to the recipient families through entertainment.

IV. PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS

50 households from Purok 12 Barangay Kawas, Alabel, Sarangani Province

V. STRATEGIES and IMPLEMENTATION
Hereunder are the steps to be undertaken for the conduct of the activity, to wit:
a. Meeting of Grade Twelve Advisers with their Coordinator, Mylene Amor
Panares-Fulgencio about the forthcoming activity;
b. Conference with the School Head;
c. Meeting and activity proposal to parents;
d. Coordinate with the Purok/Barangay Chairman concerning the
community outreach activity;
d. Preparation of the Activity Design;
e. Conference with the committee of the activity;
f. Information dissemination to the teachers and staff;
g. Conduct of the activity; and
h. Preparation and submission of the Accomplishment Report

VI. Expected Output:

After the activity, it is expected that:

a. Students, parents and teachers realized the importance of simple yet

meaningful celebration of christmas rather than expensive, lavish, and lucrative
students’ christmas party and exchanging of gifts.
 b. Participants expressed and showed their love and care to the less fortunate
families by giving and sharing which is defined as the true essence of christmas. They
will also be encouraged to look for any opportunities to extend a helping hand to those
in need.

c. Through this activity, the cooperation of parents and other stakeholders in the
Department of Education will be strengthened to achieve quality eduation and values
formation among the learners.

VII. Methodology:

The selected Grade – 12 students together with their advisers and subject
teachers will render christmas songs/dance to give joy and happiness to the recipient
families. Sharing and giving of goods will follow.

II. RATIONALE
The Regional Director of the Department of Education Region XII, Dr. Allan G.
Farnazo, CESO IV, appealed to all the Schools Division Superintendents on the
conduct of an alternative Christmas celebration through Regional Memorandum No. 22,
series of 2019 entitled “PASKOMUNIDAD (ONE SOCCSKSARGEN: Sama-Sama sa
Pagbangon Para sa Edukasyon.”
In line with this, the Senior High School Teachers, selected students, and
parents of Alabel National High School headed by our School Principal, Ernesto S.
Yuzon, devised a program that deviated from the usual Christmas celebrations by
simple yet meaningful activity through Adopt-a-Community Project that benefited the
50 identified less fortunate families at Purok 12 Barangay Kawas. Alabel, Sarangani
Province.
Indeed, the activity was successfully done and the joy brought by the volunteers
of ANHS was felt and seen in the eyes of the benefactors in our chosen community.
II. THE PRE – PLANNING PHASE
Through a regional memorandum sent to the field by the Regional Director, Dr.
Allan G. Farnazo, CESO IV, we the SHS teachers of Alabel National High School
planned to conduct an outreach program to less fortunate communities in our locality.

With this call, the Outreach Program Initiators’ MYLENE AMOR PANARES-
FULGENCIO, T-II with her partner EMEGELINE ARGULLA-VELARDE, T-III, together
with the Communication In-Charge, MARIAN B. MANTE, T-II send letter to the Schools
Division Superintendent, CRISPEN A. SOLIVEN, JR. CESE for the approval of the said
activity. When it was approved, we coordinated to the Barangay Kawas Officials
headed by their Barangay Captain, DIONY P. SEROMINES for the activity finalization
and realization that will benefit the less fortunte residents of Purok 12, Barangay Kawas
as our target beneficiaries for the 2019 PASKOMUNIDAD.

III. IMPLEMENTATION
When the activity was approved, the working committees were also finalized
followed by the preparation of good/food packages for 50 selected families.
The teachers did a house to house caroling after which they gave food packs to
each family in the purok. It was indeed a fulfilling day and everyone experienced the
joy of being able to share their blessings to the community. Likewise, the families were
very thankful and happy to receive the little gifts from the teachers of Alabel National
School.

IV. SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

December is a season of rejoicing and thanksgiving. It providesthe opportunity to

imitate and live out the virtues which the Lord Jesus exemplified during his life here on
earth such as humility, simplicity and obedience.
Being able to share our blessings to our families and friends brings happiness in
our hearts because we can see that our efforts are appreciated. But sharing our
blessings to people who are strangers to us have a much more humbling impact to the
receivers because we experience a genuine thankfulness and appreciation for the
efforts we have extended. Much more it is not the amount of the things that we give that
counts but what counts most is our desire to share what we have to our fellowmen.
After the conduct of the PASKOMUNIDAD 2019, the students, parents, and
teachers who attended the activity realized the importance of simple yet meaningful
activities instead of lavish parties and exchanging of expensive gifts. Most of all, it gives
emphasis to the main idea that inorder to strengthen the quality education and values
formation among the students, cooperation among parents and other stakeholders in
education must be developed.

IV. RECCOMENDATIONS
1. 100% of Alabel NHS teachers must participate in the said activity.
2. Coordinate to other NGO and Stakeholders for support.
3. Teachers, Parents, and Students must continue in sharing their blessing
to
everyone.
