Abstract
This study shows the awareness of the BS-Architecture 3rd year student of UM in the benefits of wooden
made house in Davao City in providing thermal comfort. By doing so, it can help the students to be more
knowledgeable in this field especially in the analysis of thermal comfort to wood housing. The first problem that
comes up in the study is if the BS-Architecture 3rd year students have enough knowledge in the thermal
comfortability of wooden-made house. The results in this study show that most BS-Architecture 3rd year
students don’t have enough knowledge in the thermal comfortability of wooden-made house. The study also
shows that the level of awareness of BS-Architecture 3rd year student is in between good and poor, however,
most of the BS-Architecture 3rd year students wants to be aware or more aware in the benefits of wooden-
made house in providing thermal comfort.

knowledgeable for circumstances that could occur in
the future pertaining the benefits of using wood in
housing for thermal comfortability. As a future

4. Conclusions and Recommendations
Therefore, the researchers conclude base
in the results of the study that BS-Architecture 3rd
year students of UM did not have enough knowledge
in the benefits of wooden-made house in providing
thermal comfort. Thus, they are unaware. However,
base on the results also, the BS-Architecture did
want to be aware or more aware in the benefits of
wooden-made house in providing thermal comfort.
Having undertaken this study; presented,
analyzed, and interpreted the findings, the
researcher proposed the following
recommendations:
1. That there shall be further and follow-up studies
Regarding the awareness in the benefits of wooden-
made house in providing thermal comfort in large
scale not only in the Architecture, but also in other
fields concerned with thermal comfort.
2. That there shall be researches in finding suitable
wood/s that will maximize thermal comfort in housing
specifically in Davao City as a follow-up study.
