I. Executive Summary
The main objective of the officials of Eco Amica is
to gain profit and to give the 5% of every purchase of
their product to the environmental organization because of the
advocacy of their company. Eco Amica naturally aims for reducing the plastic
used in the environment and the purpose of their is to recycle every plastic in the
surroundings and satisfy the target market with their beautiful and creative
design. The Eco Amica offers the most unique bags, wallets, and pouch.
The Eco Amica all started when the owners watched the disturbing videos
about the aquatic animals especially the sea turtles that is why they come up with
an idea of having a business in which they are gaining profit and at the same time
helping in preserving the endangered species. As Ms. Salvador and Ms. Lopez
conceptualized their business, they have decided to use plastic straws and have
a direct contact with the suppliers who supplies plastic straws in Angono market.
They chose suppliers that can basically sustain the needs of Eco Amica and also
the supplier who is nearest to the location of Eco Amica’s business shop.
The Eco Amica seems to grow so fast that is why Ms. Salvador and Ms.
Lopez decided to get their staff who will organize their business and who will help
them in terms of managing, controlling, leading, and keeping the business well
and organized.
The owners of Eco Amica also came upon strategies that will make their
business unique in the industry. They make sure that these strategies do not
have negative effect on the company as well as they are appropriate for their
target market. The price was also carefully studied by the owners and with the
help of their person under the finance department because this aspect gives the
product an identity to the customers. They budget their capital carefully so they
make sure that the company does not incur lost. Another important factor that
needs consideration of the entrepreneurs is the distribution strategy. How will the
product reach the consumer? In this aspect there are also lots of expenses that
needs to be deliberated.
Lastly, Ms. Salvador and Ms. Lopez cooperated
with each other on how they will communicate to the
public about the values that the product possesses. They thought of
ways on how to captivate the publlic with their unique product.

HISTORY
On November 2014, there was a video that went viral on the Internet and in
over six million views, it made an impact to the world. That videos was all about
the sea turtle or also known as "Pawikan" in Tagalog. Two scientists found a sea
turtle with stream of blood draining from its nostril because of the 4 - inch plastic
straw that was stuck in his nasal cavity.

This disturbing video was circulating all over the internet and made an impact
to the world where there were millions of people gather and made a community
wherein they protested for the safety of the Marine animal or in general "Animals
" from plastics especially the straws.

On December 6, 2014, Ms. Mariah Aeden Lopez and Ms. Iana Czherisse
Salvador started a business called Eco Amica, which comes from a Latin word
Eco meaning "Ecosystem or environment" and Amica means "friend". The two
owners were extremely devastated when they watched the disturbing video
because they were both have a big heart for Animals, especially those Animals
who needed help. So after watching the video, they decided to come up with an
idea on what kind of business they want to address and execute in the market
society. The Owners came up with the idea that they should make Bags,
Pouches, and wallets that are made up of recycled plastic straw.
Their products aims to promote the environment to recycle all plastics and plastic
straws and turn it to a new set of products. Their business is established at Doña
Aurora Poblacion Itaas Angono, Rizal wherin their target market is Teenager and

II. MARKET SITUATION

STEEPLED ANALYSIS

There are several possible factors that could affect the well-being of the

economy. These factors can have a positive and negative effects on the

business, that is why it is important for the company to evaluate these problems

or factors to prepare for the possible solutions or contingency plan when these

factors occur. Such factors are as follows:

1. Socio - Cultural Factors

Nowadays, people are tended to cope up with trends of today’s society.

With that, most of this country’s culture and tradition have been erased. Only

few of this culture and tradition are still remembered and still practiced today,

but it is subtle and often ignored. Our business should have at least cope up

with this factor. In that way, we will be able to make these culture and

traditions be remembered by other people.

2. Technological Factors

It is very evident that people nowadays are getting engage with

technology, almost every household chores has an equivalent gadgets that

could make the work more convenient to do, more efficient, more effective,

and more swift to finish. Business industry is not an exception. They also use

technology as a mode of marketing their products, communicating to other

investors. Machineries and robots are also being used by the business to
Produce more products within an hour rather

than hiring factory workers that take too much time before

producing huge amount of products. Companies can use this factor as an

advantage because with the help of technology, it can be utilized as a means

of communicating and delivering goods to the public. But it can also harm

them if they will depend the sake of their company on the technology and it

can be a major risk for them.

3. Economic Factors

Economic should never be forgotten when making a business, thus the

business will be a reason for the economic growth or not. The goal of an

entreprenuer is mainly to gain profit for the business, help other people to

have a job and lastly, to help the economy of the country where they belong

by paying their taxes. The status of the Philippine economy today is known to

be industrialized. This is due to different business that are established at

being established by the entrepreneurs and with this, our economy seems to

be in progress.

4. Environmental/Ecological Factors

Every business should consider environmental factors. The environment

is very unpredictable and continuously changing. In just span of a week, the

weather could change from balmy and sunny summer to a freezing cold

weather. These factors could affect the business’ supplies of raw materials.

The main raw material that the business is using are the plastic straws. We
all know that plastic straws could possibly harm the

environment because of how

the people segregate this kind of materials properly. That’s why this

business has been established. To lessen the harmful effects of these

materials in our Mother Nature. The business uses this material so that we

can be an example for others that these plastic straws could be used in a

positive way rather than segregating this improperly and then it could be the

reason for ruining the beauty of our environment.

5. Political Factors

Laws and regulations that are being implemented by the government has

a huge impact for a business. These laws and regulations should be followed

by the business to produce satisfactory at the same time legal products to the

customers. The government is also in-charge in implementing taxes that the

business are obliged to pay on a specific period of time.

6. Legal Factors

Legal factors should always be considered in coming up with a business.

Laws and regulations should be obeyed by the entrepreneur. Memorandum,

constitutions, order, or even the simple rules should be abided so that the

company will be validated as a producer of legal products or services. One of

the laws that the business should obey is the Consumer Act of the

Philippines. This law has been implemented to protect the customers.

7. Ethical Factors

Ethical factors are all about the morality of a business. In coming up with

a business, entrepreneur must attain good moral characteristics in order to

build a good relationship and trust with their future customers or future

investors. A good relationship with them should always be considered in

order for your business to run successfully.

8.Demographic Factors

Demographic factors must also be considered. Here, many questions are

being formulated. Does the people nearby the location likes your product?

Does the individual income of your target market can meet the assigned price

of your product? Does the population near your location could meet your

target market? And many questions as the business goes along.
