9.5 Operational Plan

9.5.1 Introduction

An operational plan is defined as a plan that is created to establish, increase and improve
the operations that a business entity goes through daily. It covers every activity that
happens in an organization on a day-to-day basis in a repetitive manner to deliver products
and services in a smooth and prompt manner. An operational plan will help an organization
meet its customer’s needs the plan that is created also revolves on the goals of the
customer’s satisfaction. If an operation plan is absent or not followed, the chances of a
business falling apart, and failing, is high and it shall be a waste of everyone’s time along
with a great amount of money.
9.5.2 Operational Objectives

The objectives of our operational plans are as below:

1. To ensure the fluidity of our operations, daily and generally.
2. To ensure business is thriving and profitable.
3. To optimize the quality of our products and services.
4. To ensure customer’s satisfaction is optimized and their expectations are fulfilled.

9.5.3 Components of Our Operating Systems

This is to ensure the quality of our products and services are optimized and controlled, along
with other customer services that we have to offer.

1. Ingredients and Supplies

This includes specifications and inspection.
- A list regarding the specifications of our ingredients and supplies are made. This
list will be used before restocking or buying any product from anywhere, be it
our suppliers or our personal shopping places to ensure that our ingredients and
supplies are consistent in quality.
- As for inspection, a list of specific items that need to be ticked off when buying
each ingredient or supply is made and constantly referred to during the buying
process. This is to ensure that our suppliers don’t change the quality or standards
of materials and as well as consistency as well.

2. Good Manufacturing Procedures and Sanitation

- Sanitation is done manually in the morning, before daily operation starts, in
between every single order and during closing time, to end our daily operations.
This is to ensure cleanliness of our production area to avoid any unwanted
diseases or dirt. This sanitation is guided by Food Hygiene Regulations (2009)
created by Ministry of Health (MOH).
- Each ingredient is then reviewed and inspected again right before we cook/chop
it up.
- Other than sanitation, a daily routine has been created and must be strictly
followed to ensure that our operations run smoothly, and any sort of trouble is
avoided.

3. Business Input
- This refers to process of buying our ingredients and supplies. The prices of
anything to be bought shall be negotiated upon buying. Negotiation of the prices
guarantees that the qualities of the products bought are fitting to the price of
each product bought.

4. Ordering
- We have made several ordering processes options to optimize the satisfaction of
our customers. Customers are able to order our food through food-delivery apps
such as FoodPanda and Grab app and also social media apps such as WhatsApp
and Instagram. Every order received from each app is recorded attentively and
processed through our system immediately.

5. After-care
- After every session, our customers will be personally contacted by us to ensure
that their satisfaction is optimized and reached.
- Every form of feedback, be it negative or positive, will be taken into thought and
applied in the future. Positive feedback will also be posted on our social media
accounts as review for potential customers to see.
- For customers who ordered through social media apps instead of food-delivery
apps, the process update of their order is constantly being updated to their
phone number. A confirmation text upon arrival of their order will also be sent.
- This is to ensure our customer’s comfortability and satisfaction goals are
reached.

business that runs fully online and through delivery. We also have chosen this location as
our vision is to help students and Tamarind Suites is located in Cyberjaya where quite a
number of universities and schools are located. Rent per month is also not too expensive, it
ranges between RM900 – RM1200. It is affordable and perfect for a business that just
started up like ours.
