Tour arrangements and activities

Four Stages of Tour Guiding
Objective:

At the end of the exercise, the students should be able to:

 perform tour arrangements and activities.

Basic Principles:
No tours are exactly alike. Even if tour guides go through the same routines, tour varies because circumstances are different for every
tour. That is why performing tour arrangement is important as well as anticipating what activities can be incorporated in a tour to keep
the clients preoccupied.

Procedure:

1. Analyze the given scenario and decide what preparations to do before the tour.
2. Read the scenario carefully and apply your best judgment.
3. Follow the format given below. Answers may be given in bullet form.

Scenario:
The Stark brothers together with 30 other tourists are all going to San Juan. They will all travel together in a motor coach for about six
(6) hours. The tour includes a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag. It is the feast of the Lady of Manaoag so they
expect that there will be many people in the area. Part of the itinerary is lunch at Ciudad Elmina, a restaurant on a dock built over a fish
pond that offers Filipino cuisine. From the shrine and right after lunch, the tour will proceed to Kahuna Beach Resort, where all of them
have confirmed reservations.

Question:
1. Considering the distance and the travel time, what are you going to do to keep the tourists preoccupied? Give ideas as to how
well can you puff of an enjoyable 6-hour trip.
