Whenever we see a work of art or decorative object, we immediately

notice several things: shape or form, texture, color, space, and lines which an
artist used in expressing his/her ideas. These are called elements of art.

The elements of art are the ‘building blocks’ the artist uses to express
ideas.
A commonly used list of the main elements of art includes: LE
1. Line – the path of a moving point. Lines define the edges of shapes and
forms.
2. Shape – figures such as polygons, circles, ovals and closed loops.
3. Form – 3-dimensional objects that have height, width and depth.
