Welcome to the ORAL COMMUNICATION IN CONTEXT GRADE 12 Alternative


Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on EXAMINE SAMPLE ORAL COMMUNICATION ACTIVITY.

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators


from public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the
standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and
economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and
circumstances.

As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to manage their
own learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they
do the tasks included in the module.

This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for
guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process
the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.

This module will assist you in examining sample oral communication activity. You will
observe different communication exercise and will try to apply it in your daily communication.
This will guide you to enhance your skills in conversation by observing different samples of
communication.

For the learner

Having a sufficient knowledge and skill in communication will help you to convey your
thoughts and ideas in effective way. This will also diminish communication breakdowns as
you learn by observing and examining different communication activities.
At the end of this module, you are expected to:

Examine Sample Oral Communication
15 Activity

Effective communication is a process of expressing clear and accurate message to


the recipient. Therefore, you achieve effective communication when the individual you are
talking to is listening attentively, perceives your point of view and understands your
message. Oral communication is like a highway with two directions, the one speaks, the
other listens, understands and gives feedback.

What is It

Discussion of Activity 1

Communication is part of being a human as we converse every day to establish and


develop relationships, know and understand ourselves, and find meaning in the daily
experiences. Since we are social beings who love expressing ourselves through having
discourse with one another, learning new skills of creating and sustaining meaningful
conversation happens.

The first communication we can observe is the family. It is where we learn our
language and how we interact with each other. As this basic unit of our human society
collapse, communication fails. On the picture below, observe the kind of communication
situation that this family has.
