Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant (1)


BACKGROUND
Karen Women Empowerment Group (KWEG) is founded in 2003 with the aim of building an enabling environment for
protection of rights of women, greater involvement of women in development initiatives and strengthening capacity
of women to become leaders. We have been implementing projects ranging from Violence against women, Women
Protection & Empowerment, Child Rights Governance, Community Security, Promoting Rule of Law and Community
Capacity Building and Community Peace Support and VSLA Promoting and Gender Equality to Protection of Women
Rights and Building Peaceful Community in Myanmar.

PURPOSE
Ensure monitoring and evaluation of results and impact of projects and activities by collecting and analysing data
and conducting learning activities.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant is responsible for:


- Assist in the development of baseline data collection plans and household data collection from project staff.
- Ensure data completeness and accuracy of information; follows up with subjects to resolve problems or
clarify data collected.
- Provide monthly / Semi-annual draft reports to Project Coordinator
- Ensure data entry for Monthly distribution activities from Community Mobilization Facilitators,
documentations of project activities, monitoring results and sharing learning work to other project areas and
team.
- Support project implementation through assistance in developing and maintaining data systems relevant to
monitoring and evaluations.
- Undertaking regular monitoring visits to project sites and documenting lesson learned
- Providing project information and supporting external M&E evaluators in their activities

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Graduate (Any Degree)
• Have at least 1-year experience in project monitoring and evaluation
• Have at least 1-year experience in working in CSO/NGO.
• Good command of written and spoken Karen, Burmese and English
• Coordinate and maintain harmonious relationship with project staff
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Good computer skills (MS word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
• Being able to ride a Motor bike
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Contract : 1-year contract with possible extension


Location : Hpa-an Branch Office
Start date : As soon as possible
Working hours : Standard working week is 40 hours a week
