LAB #11
To construct a Boost Converter circuit by selecting appropriate
values of components using breadboard and MATLAB
Objectives
In this lab we Are selecting the appropriate values of the Boost Converter circuit material using theory
techniques Build a power conversion circuit using breadboard and MATLAB and Measure the output power
of the power converter accessory using DMM and MATLAB
Methodology
A boost converter is a DC to DC converter with an output voltage greater than the source voltage. A boost
converter is sometimes called a step-up converter since it "steps up" the source voltage. Since power
({\display style P=VI}P=VI) must be conserved, the output current is lower than the source current in this
lab
We designed the boost converter circuit for ∆V= 60mV and ∆I=0.25A.
We required output current is 1.2A. 2.
We Considered Vin=9V, VO=12V
We used 25kHz switching frequency from the function generator.
We calculated the values of inductor and capacitor
We Took the designed components and implement the circuit on the bread board and in lab task 2 We
construct the same circuit on MATLAB which we designed in task 1
We simulated it and check the results

Output
Pre lab task

Output
CONCLUSION
After this lab we understood the working of boost converters
We were able to design and construct boost convertors on breadboard after performing this lab
We also learnt to construct boost convertor on MATLAB
