PASSIVE VOICE

Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or
what is performing the action.

Basic Form of Passive

My phone was stolen.

My phone = subject

Was = to be

Stolen = Past participle (3rd column of irregulaf verbs)

Subject + to be + Verb3

Example:

Active Voice Simple Present Tense

S+V1(es/s)+O

Sheren and friends discuss about balance nutrition

Passive Voice

1. Simple Prensent

S + is/am/are + V3 + by + O

Balance nutrition is discussed by sheren and friends

2. Simple Past

S + was/were + being + V3 + by + O

Balance nutrition was discussed by sheren and friends

3. Present Perfect

S+has/have+been + V3 + by + O

Balance nutrition has been discussed by sheren and friends

4. Simple Future

S+will+be+ V3+ by+O

Balance nutrition will be discussed by sheren and friends


5. Past Continuous

S+was/were+being+ V3 +by +O

Balance nutrition was being discussed by sheren and friends
