LIST POEMS
Overview:
In this lesson, it introduces what is a list poem. It includes not only the
integration of figures of speech but also imagery and symbolism.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the lesson, the students can:
1. read a sample of the list poem;
2. compose a list poem;
3. recite the original list poem written; and
4. appreciate the personal made list poem.

Learning Content:
Creative writing is writing beyond the normal professional, journalistic,
academic or technical forms of literature, typically identified by an emphasis on
narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes or with various
traditions of poetry and poetics.
Creative writing, a form of artistic expression, draws on the imagination to
convey meaning through the use of imagery, narrative and drama. This is in
contrast to analytic or pragmatic forms of writing. This genre includes poetry, fiction
(novels, short stories), scripts, screenplays, and creative non-fiction.
Creative writing is anything where the purpose is to express thoughts, feeling,
and emotions rather than to simply convey information.
Creative writing is any writing that goes outside the bounds of normal
professional, journalistic, academic or technical forms of literature, typically
identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of
literary tropes or with various traditions of poetry and poetics.
Poetry is derived from Greek word poesis meaning making or creating". It
expresses a conversation or interchange the deeply felt experiences of human
beings. It comes from many formal and informal shapes and lengths. It uses few
words, as compared to prose fiction. It relies heavily on imagery, figurative
language, and sound. Robert Frost once said, "A poem begins with delight and
ends with wisdom.
Poetry has a language of its own. It is a language more subtle, more indirect,
more musical, and more succinct than the language of prose. Words are carefully
chosen to communicate thoughts or feelings. Rhetorical devices and figures of
speech embellish and enrich the poem.

A List poem gets its name from the fact that most of the poem is made up of a long
list of things.
A list poem can be an inventory of items, people, places, or ideas. It often involves
repetition. It can include rhyme or not
A list poem can be a list of both people, places, things you do, items even ideas you
may have. It can rhyme, but doesn't have to. Repetition is often a tool used in a list
poem. One thing a list poem is not is a random list. Most list poems are thought out
and not just casual items.
It can be purely a list without transitional phrases. List poems don't have any fixed
rhyme or rhythmic pattern and the order of the list poem can ether serve to provide.
List poems contain lists of symbols and images that would relate to a particular idea
or concept.
