Name of Typhoon/ Date : Typhoon Karen, October 15 2016
How did the typhoon affect you personally, your family and your community?
I still remember the typhoon Ulysses last year. It destroyed lots of houses and brought too
much water that results to flood in our area. It is really scary. When that typhoon hitting us I feel
afraid because it might dangered our lives. Our family suffered too much because of that typhoon.
Imagine that typhoon last up to 12 hours. We don't know if when to get food and survive especially
we don't have enough money for our needs and the pandemic is still there. But then we hope that
everything's gonna be okay. Typhoons is normal for us except Typhoon Ulysses it kills lives of our
countrymen.

Deepen:

The impact of a landslide can be extensive, including loss

of life, destruction of infrastructure, damage to land and
loss of natural resources. Landslide material can also
block rivers and increase the risk of floods. People
affected by landslides can also have short- and long-term
mental health effects due to loss of family, property,
livestock or crops. Landslides can also greatly  impact the
health system and essential services, such as water,
electricity or communication lines.

As communication links and infrastructure such as

power plants, roads and bridges are damaged and
disrupted, economic activities come to a standstill,
resulting in dislocation and the dysfunction of normal
life for a period much beyond the duration of the
flooding. Similarly, the direct effect on production
assets, be it in agriculture or industry, can inhibit
regularly activity and lead to loss of livelihoods.
