ultra hard formation.By selection of the right bit,drill life and
penetration rate can be increased.
The crown is formed with a mixture of metal powder and

IMP Bits Selection Guide

It is not as difficult as it seems to choose the right bits.Gain as much underground condition as you can and access
power and speed of your drill for the size and depth of hole to be drilled:Then follow the guideline below.
Under normal circumstance,a lower bits is recommended for cutting hard formation and higher bit for soft
formation.
In many cases,it maximizes performance of bit by adjusting penetration rate.In broken ground condition,a drilling
fluid program needs to be engineered to maintain the stability of the hole.
Make an initial selection according to table below

Rods & casing shoe is connected to the end of the drill rod or casing string. It helps
to guide and stabilize the Rod & Casing string when seated in the bedrock,
providing tight seal for drilling fluid to return to the surface. Inner diameter of the

Wireline Coring System Overview

A wireline coring system includes core barrel assembly and overshot assembly.The core barrel assembly is
composed of inner tube group and outer tube group.Inner & outer tubes have standard length of 1.5 meters
and 3 meters.
Bit and reaming shell are not standard parts of outer tube group.They need to be ordered separately,which
otherwise are replaced by thread protectors to assemble the core barrel.front end reaming shells are standard
parts in their corresponding systems,
Wireline coring systems are available in Q series,Q3 series,Q1 series,NQ2 core barrel and TW series.
Q series wireline core barrels
Q series wireline core barrels follow international industry standard.

Q1 series wireline core barrels
Q1 series wireline core barrels use the same inner tube group of C series.Out tube group of C1 utilizes the
front and back reamer design to increase the stability of core barrel and fluid flow.C1 series core barrels are
designed for demanding application.
NQ2 series wireline core barrels
NQ2 wireline core barrel,a patented product of Jcdrill,features increased safety and greater performance.
Q3 series triple tube wireline core barrels
Q3 Series core barrels are same as Q core barrels but have a split tube placed in side the inner tube for drilling
in fractured ground condition.
TW series wireline core barrel
TW series wireline core barrels are thin-wall products designed for shallow or underground drilling
application.

NQ2 wireline double tube core barrel is composed of outer tube group and inner tube group.
Patented NQ2 head assembly has a simpler configuration and increased safety.Other parts of NQ2 inner tube
group are same as NQ's;outer tube group utilizes the front and back reamer design to increase the stability of core
barrel and fluid flow.NQ2 is design for demanding spplication.
The fellow os a structure of NQ2 core barrel,in which item 1 to item5

compose the inner tube group,item 6 to item 12 compose the outer
tube group.

Q3 Core Barrel Overview
When drilling coal,clay bearing or highly fractured formation or in situation where initial state of core sample to
be recersed strictly,the third tube or split tube is placed inside the inner tube to protect rock core.
After inner tube group is recevied,take out the split tube from the inner tube to load core samples selected into
core trays.
Q3 core barrels are available in N,H and P size.
Q3 core barrel is composed of outer tube group,inner tube group and split tube group.

fluid, drill rig capacity, and operant level have effects on performance of rods.

Depth capacity decrease with wear. For example, derate by at leat 50% for box
shoulder worn 50% of original.

Casings are often used when there is need to stabilize the drill hole and protect it from leaking,
collapsing or water-bearung stratum. Casings are flush joint type and available in W and WT threads.
W casing utilizes the DCDMA W thread form. WT casing is made with DCDMA tubing and tapered
thread form.

Care and Handling
Making and breaking
Stabbing
Rods & casings provide very little radial clearance when first inserting a pin end into a box end. If the pin end is
misaligned, it will stab into the box end casing permanent damage regardless of heat treatment or design. This
damage will creat varying leakage, depending on the degree of damage. Serve stabs can comprpmise the fit of joint
and potentially cause fatigue failure. In practice, mix use of rods from different suppliers is prohibited.
Once the face of the pin end shoulder is even with the face of box ed shoulder, the pin end should be lowered slowly
into the box until the stab flank of the pin thread mates against the stab falnk of the box thread. If the pin is not in
true vertical alighment over the box the pin thread crest may wedge or "jam" against the box thread crst or begin to
cross thread. Once successfully lowered, ratate the stabbling rod by hand to ensure proper thread engagement.
Make up
Wireline rods and casing are made up by slowly rotating the pin clockwise into the box. On most drills,this must be
done at a very low rotation. If the stand-off gap is ooutside specification or if the joint does not close after applying a
samll amount of make-up torque, break-out the joint, clean and inspect both threads. This is an indication of
excessive wear, excessive foreign material, or thread deformatio due to overloading during making or breaking.
It may also indicate that the products is from a different manufactuer.
Make up torque
After the stand-off gap is closed, additional make-up is required to sufficiently pre-load the joint.
While a large wrench may be sufficient on smaller sized rod strings or less demanding applications,make-uo applied
with the drill head is often required, This is to ensure the box shoulder does not become unloaded during drilling
allowing leakage, fretting or premature fatigue failures.
Lowering
The drill drive and hoist sheave must be aligned with the center line of the hole to prevent undue bending and drag.
The drill must also be well secured to the casing., ground or work face to ensure it does not load the rod sting or
become misaligned. Adjust hollow spindle drive chucks or feed rollers to ensure that contact pressure is not
permanently deforming or bending misbodies, especially in the case of light weight rod strings. In down-holes
always lower the rod string with the inner tube assembly latched in position. The inner tube assembly will act as a
check valve in case the rod string is accidentally dropped.
Break out
Theory and laboratory test shows that break out torque should be 70-80% of the greater of the make up or drilling
torque applied to each joint.
Note: sometimes break-out torque needed exceeds the original make-up applied, This can be overcome utilizing the
same effect by applying a slight percussive blow to the side of the box with a rubber mallet or similar non-damageing
tool. Do not use a metal hammer or similary hard objects. They will affect material properties in the impacted area
and potentially cause fatigue failures.
Seal
Wireline drill rods and casing utilize steel-on-steel interface as a fluid seal. Make-up toeque is required to load the
box end shoulder face against the pin external shoulder face to develop the necessary contact pressure at the
interface.
Note: Chucking on or applying wrenches to the external shoulder will cause leakage (see Stabbing).

CARE AND HANDLING
Packing and transit
Rods & casings are tied in bundles for transportation, Both ends bundle are covered with steel palate caps.and all
rods & casings have plastic thread protector. To ease surface of the rods & casings in transit.antrust agent is applied.
Lubrication and Cleaning

Jcdrill drill rod thread are coated with thread compound for shipmen from the factory. For intial use, it is b=neither
necessary not desirable to remove this thread compound unless contamination has occurred. Each timethe rods
are used, clean and luricate the threads.
Storage
Always clean and grease the pin and box end threads of the rods & casings before storing. Store rods horizontally on
a minimum of three cross supports no less than 30cm from the ground to keep moisture and dirt away from the rods.
Applying antirust agent on rod & casing body will help long time storage.
Thread protection
Thread wear from making and breaking is major cause of performance loss of drill rods. The degree of wear can
worsen to the point there it can cause premature failure or, in cases of mating surfce of similar harness, seize the
joint. Alternatively a worn thread can demage a good thread.
Less wear resistance can be achived by:
Cleaning and lubricating joints regularly, If lubrication coating is dried, clean it and lubricate.
Choosing joints with mating surface of dissimilar harness. Given equal contact pressure and equal
hardness on the
softer surfaces, a system with a harder mating surfce can provide several times the wear life.
Choosing joints with greater hardness on the softer thread.
Reducing the sliding contact distance by choosing thread with greater tapered.
Another source of rod joint wear is worn accessories. All threaded parts, such as drive rod, hoist plugs,
Box and mid body wear
It is inherenet for the box and box end shoulder to elasticallly deform radially and it is more likely to happen in thin
wall drilling. As the wear progresses, the box becomes weaker and deformation more pronounced, increasing the
wear rate.
Given sufficient contact pressure and spped, the heat generated between the rod string and casing or hole can cause
heat-check cracking which ultimately appears as an axial crack, typically on the box end.
The bending stressed become significant under high load or rotation, expecially in oversize holes, and mau cause
permanent bending of the rod string. Jcdrill drill rods incorporate enhanced heat treatment which doubles the bend
strength og the midbody.
Appling rod grease to drill rod body can reduce friction between the rod string and casing or hole.

Hoist plug overview
In exporatio drilling, hoist plug is used to hoist and lower rods.
Jcdrill hoist plugs feature easy and safe operation and available in T and K configu-rations. International
standard T hoist plugs have T01 and T02 sizes, in which T01 is suitable for use with A, B and N rods,

Recovery tap overview
Recoverytaps are engineered to finish fallen rods, casing and core barrels inside the drill hole. Recovery
tap is connected to drill rod by adaptor subs.
Jcdrill recovery taps are made with high-quality alloy steel and nitrocarburizing technology Thread crest
hardness of recovery taps is HRC55 to HRC60.

Tube cutter overview
Sometime rod & casing string may be stuck inside the drill hole, and in such cases,tube cutter is used to
cut off the string from an appropriate point to recycle rods & casings.The alloy cutter will be pushed out
from the tube cutter body and will be driven by the high pressure drilling fluid.
G typr tube cutter
Jcdrill G type tube cutters are suitable to cut tubes of outer diameter larger than 71mm.in practice, the
tube cutter will be lowered into the drill hole by drill rod string of a lower size than that of the tubes to be
cut. Tube cutter to drill rod adaptor subs need to be chose accordingly.

Conventional Drill Rig Maching Products
Wireline winches
Wireline winch is an important lifting tool for conventional drill
rig.
Jcdrill wireling winches can be chose between motor-driven and
diesel-driven.
Winches are available in JC600, JC1500,JC2000, JC2500 and
JC3000 types.Numbers following JC show work capacilies of
winches.
Clamp holders
When drilling with a conventional drill rig, clamp holder need be
positioned at the mouth of drill hole to hoist the drill rod string.
Jcdrill damp holders are avalab;e in hydraulic, self-motivated and
wooden horse types.
Hydraulic clamp holders are connected to the drill rig

power sourced by oil pipe. Hydraulic clamp holders are available
in TK-3 and TK-114 standards.
Self-motivated clamp holders are available in JCZ-01 and JCZ-02
types.
Wooden horse clamp holders feature simpler construction and

easier operation.
Wooden horse clamp holders are available in 71mm and 89mm
sizes.
There are standard A, B, N, H, P and S size jaws for all three kinds
of clamp holders.
Drill Towers
Jcdrill drill towers are in rectangular pyramid shape can be used for
drilling both straight and angled holes. Drill towers have standard
and heavy duty types.
Standard drill towers are available in SX-13 and JKX-17, Heavy
duty drill towers are available in JKX-13Z and JKX-17Z.
Drill towers can be customized.
Pulleys
Pulleys are matching products with drill tower. The pulleys are of two main types,
single wheel and double wheel.
Pulleys are available in 5T, 10T, 12T, 15T and 20T standars.
