The Role

What's the role -

Reporting to the Reliability Manager, the Electrical and Instrumentation


Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in day to day reliability of the operating
units, along with the effectiveness of the maintenance organization in the delivery
of maintenance activities as a key enabler and support to the executions party

The Maintenance Engineer is accountable for providing day to day technical support
to routine and non-routine maintenance organizations in all aspects of
instrumentations and electrical discipline

The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer should have strong


understanding of maintaining equipment as effectively and efficiently as possible,
making sure it performs as intended. The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance
Engineer covers the development of Maintenance strategies and the planning,
coordination and execution of Maintenance activities. Ensures safe, defect free and
efficient operations through the regular upkeep of equipment and tools in the most
cost efficient and timely manner.

Responsible for:
Detailing scope for maintenance and Non-Routine Maintenance, ie. demo work, tank
work.

Shepherd the GSAP WENG (Waiting for Engineering) Work Orders.

Support with pitstop (including boilers) and input to the IAP (Integrated Activity
Plan).

Communicating and coordinating work scopes with Production, Maintenance and


Technical teams associated with pitstops and complex repairs.

Integrate engineering support as needed to resolve longer terms engineering


solutions.

Integration and review of management of change elements for maintenance and non-
routine maintenance.

Developing and preparing technical information and details for repairs and
maintenance outage work, tanks, pitstops, etc. for Electrical and Instrumentation
Engineering.

Support Stores min/max reviews and update equipment BOMs (Bill of Material) as
required.

Ability to assess equipment condition, diagnose faults and failures.

Participate in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies, as required.

Supporting the Discipline Engineers/Specialists with the RCM Living Program.

As needed, follow-up with Radar, Fit4MTO and FIM Action Items.

General involvement with:


Causal reasoning/ failure analysis/ causal investigations

Support, review and input into the SIS (Safety Instrumented Function) and HEMP work
processes
Dimensions

No direct report/s and budget accountability

Support non-routine maintenance with influence on site routine, infrastructure and


pitstop budgets.

Accountable for spending in departmental, Reliability budget.

Support turnaround budgets as required.

Skills & Requirements

What we need from you -

Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone
other than current employer.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation.

Professional Engineer registered in Canada is preferred

At least five (5) years related experience in an industrial facility.

Ability to self-manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Stakeholder management with strong communication and Relationships

Knowledge of applicable industry and company codes.

Ability to learn and efficiently use different engineering and company specific
software to do the job

Knowledge and application of Causal Methodology and investigations
