Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

About the role

At our manufacturing site in Trafford Park, in Manchester we are looking for an enthusiastic and
committed qualified E&I Technician to work on shift (4 on, 6 off pattern).

What you will do

As a Shift Electrical & Instrumentation Technician you will become a fully integrated member of the team,
working on the Paper Machine. You will use your technical expertise and knowledge to maintain and
improve the day to day operational efficiency of our machinery, by ensuring regular and efficient
maintenance is carried out. You will solve problems quickly and effectively to support the overall aim of
hitting key performance indicators (KPI’s) and stretch targets. Carrying out both predictive and reactive
work you will work both independently and as part of a shift team.

Main Tasks

 Perform all tasks in accordance with Safety procedures.


 Responsible for the electrical processes and systems across Paper Making for one shift.
 Execute daily/shiftly inspections, centrelines and Time Based Maintenance in a timely manner
and with excellence.
 Complete all scheduled maintenance activities assigned or when unplanned downtime occurs,
including preventative electrical maintenance checks.
 Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, updating documentation systems with required
information.
 Able to continuously improve the equipment/process and transfer knowledge to others.
 Complete effective handover of open electrical issues to oncoming shift.
 Collaborate effectively with Day Electrical resources and Electrical group members.
 Have the enthusiasm to work on various technologies and look for continuous development
areas.
 Support electrical initiatives/Projects.
 Embrace training / Mentoring Apprentices in the business.

Who are you?


We would like to hear from you if you have:

Essential

Applicant must have the below to be considered for the role advertised.

 Experience in FMCG environment / Manufacturing Environment / Process Environment.


 A recognized electrical or electrical/instrument engineering apprenticeship preferably with a City &
Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification.
 A recognized electrical or electrical/instrument engineering HNC Level qualification.
 Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
 Proven experience in trouble shooting complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
 Experience in panel wiring.
 Experience with Software & Hardware of PLC’s (Allen Bradley preferred, PLC5, SLC500 &
ControlLogix). Be able to navigate through the software to aid trouble shooing issues or making
modifications based on current business needs/change requests.
 SCADA systems experience

 Experience with AC Motors.
