LEARNING OBJECTIVES
TOPIC DISCUSSION
Repairs
Repairing is the process of fixing old clothing, shoes and accessories that are ripped, have holes,
stains or other blemishes. One of the processes is also mending where a variety of materials is
used and one can be as creative and artsy as they feel.
UNPICKING STITCHES
This must be done carefully to keep from damaging the fabric because the fabric will have to be
restitched.

THREE WAYS YOU CAN UNPICK STICHES
DARNING A HOLE
REPAIRING A DAMAGED
BUTTONHOLE
A buttonhole can sometimes rip at the
end, or the stitching on the buttonhole can
come unraveled. When repairing, use a
thread that matches the fabric so the repair
will be invisible.
