Content Area/Grade Level(s): Science, Kindergarten

meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication.

Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):

x Remembering x Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☐ Creating

Levels of Technology Integration:

x Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning newscast,
posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This tool allows students to watch the video and have visual stimulation
to keep them engaged. Edpuzzle allows for there to be stopping points during an educational video for
questions to help students reflect on what they’ve watched. This supports all students because it has audio,
visuals, and responses where they can type or respond with an audio recording to answer the questions. This
tool makes the lesson to be less passive and allows them to answer questions and engage in their learning.

Lesson idea implementation: The teacher will have each student watch the video at their own pace and
respond accordingly to each question. The activities length with be dictated by how long the students take to
answer questions and watch the video. An estimated time would be 10-15 minutes at most. Students will
respond to each question and their answers will be assessed after submitting their responses. I will conclude
the lesson by holding a group discussion about living and non-living things. I will ask open-ended questions
that the students can answer as a class and discuss together. I will provide feedback through the edpuzzle site
by letting them know if their answers were wrong and also during our discussion I will correct them if they get
anything incorrect.

Reflective Practice: This activity can help students utilize different modes of learning like visual, audio, and by
answering questions. This will help them work on learning using different kinds of teaching. I could enhance
this activity by doing a matching activity. I would put picture of an animal or object on the board and allow the
students to work in groups to tell if it is living or non-living.
