The

Ant
and
the
Grasshopper
Aesop’s Fables, by Aesop

Submitted By: QUEEN JESSEL LOMBOY BSED-I

One warm sunny day, ants were all busy carrying food going back to their
ant hill. They were busy storing food in order for them to have something to
eat when the weather is bad.

1
When they find food
they put it one by one
on their backs and take
it home. They lined up
walking back to their
house and that is what
ants always do.

But the grasshopper is the laziest of all, he has nothing else to do but sing
over the mushroom. Sleeping, eating, and singing are all he knows to do
every day.

Lalalala…. The ant looked at the

Lalalalala…. grasshopper singing over
the mushroom.

Even when the
night came, the
grasshopper was
still singing. He

how to store his
food.

The ant kept shaking

his head as he looked
at the grasshopper.

The day came

again and the
ants were
looking for food
again, but the
grasshopper
was just lying
and doing
nothing.

3
The ant then approached
the grasshopper.

Grasshopper!
Wake up. Let’s
look for food
while the day is
good.
I don’t want to! It is better to
just follow me. Now that the
day is beautiful we should also
be happy.
Come and let us sing and jump.

I also don’t want your idea

my friend grasshopper.
I am telling you that this day
is good to store food so we
can have something to eat
when the bad weather
comes.

4
After many days, the bad weather came, it was snowing and so the weather
was very cold. It rained in the morning, in the afternoon, as well in the
evening.

The grasshopper was now

shivering and hungry.

The grasshopper
remembered his
ant friend so he
went in to his
house.

5
6
No one answered the knock of the grasshopper. He was already hungry and
cold and he didn’t know somewhere else to go.

7
The ant opened
the door for the
grasshopper.

Come inside,
my friend
grasshopper!

The grasshopper cried with joy when

his ant friend opened his door for
him.

8
The ant gave the grasshopper a clothes and he quickly cooked a food.

When the weather is good, I

not get hungry.

9
Since the, the grasshopper has changed. The ant taught him on how to
store food.
