PROCEDURE OF AUTHENTICATION WITH

MICROSOFT AZURE MFA


1. Introduction

1.1 Target and scope

The main purpose of this document is to explain the on-boarding procedure of new users into

Azure MFA, explaining its three different options: phone call, SMS, and mobile App.
2. Web Access & Login

The first time the user login using the anyconnect client:

he will be redirected to Santander´s Microsoft portal so he can proceed with the onboarding
of the 2nd Factor Authentication method.

In this page you should login with your Santander Credentials (UPN) and password

Once logged you should press ‘Next’ button:


After finishing the config, you should open the app and copy the code generated after each
successful authentication:

Changes in the initial set up

If you need to modify the method of authentication, you can login the page and click on

‘Security information’ to change/add/delete the method chosen:


4. Password Change and reset

Microsoft SSPR (Self Service Password Reset)

To access this tool you must enter https://aka.ms/sspr and follow these steps:

On the Login page you have to type your UPN (Microsoft logo changes to Santander as seen

in the following screenshot):

After adding the characters of the image you will be redirected to the screen where it gives

you the option to unlock (second option) or change the password:


Then it will be necessary to select the authentication method

At this point you can type the desired password (as long as it complies with the domain

password change and security policy).
