Important Notes
Scope: Schindler 3400/5400 EU and Schindler 5400 Extension EU in combination with CO MX 6.x and software version
2.63. For software versions other than specified, the tests may vary.
This SAIS is only applicable for 100 % standard Schindler 3400/5400 EU and for Schindler 5400
Extension EU elevators.
For any modified or adapted installations, the document J 139450 Generic SAIS Traction EN 81-1
Inspector’s Guide has to be applied.
Note: For Schindler 5400 Extension EU Rel. 01 elevator (rated speed VKN = 2.00 m/s or 2.50 m/s):
A complete system calculation is performed for each individual installation. To obtain the Back Office Data, the
SAIS inspector therefore requires the details of the system calculation (drive, weight, guide rails, etc.) according
to J 43912095 Order Instruction for S 5400 Extension.
Legend
All checks and tests have to be performed and documented on site. Pre-filling of the results by the back office is not
allowed.
uid Unique identification number for checks and tests
N/A Not applicable for the inspected elevator
In case the inspector needs to select one of several options, the selection items are denoted with this symbol.
For example:
Option 1
Option 2.
Yes The result of the check or test is positive.
No The result of the check or test is negative. The findings must be clearly noted for re-work (OIL).
∇ No The result of the check or test is negative and safety critical. The findings must be clearly noted for re-work (OIL).
The elevator is not qualified to be put into public operation.
0 Introduction
1. The Acceptance Inspection Report only contains the results of the tests performed before the elevator is placed into
service. All tests have to be performed in accordance with approved engineering practice. All testing instruments have
to be in compliance with the approved quality management.
2. The Acceptance Inspection Report should be retained by Schindler.

2 Safety Procedures
For safety reasons, before entering the hoistway for the first time follow the safety
procedure described here.
Follow the procedure described below to sequentially check the following safety switches
from the bottom landing:
y JHSG (switch stop hoistway pit)
y KTS1 (contact door hoistway - bottom landing door)
y JLBS (switch light hoistway pit).
1 Send the car to the top floor and wait the necessary time to be sure the car is level
again with closed doors.
2 Carefully open the bottom landing door and switch on the hoistway light (JLBS).
3 Check that there is sufficient light in the pit.
4 Check that the car is not moving.
5 Activate the JHSG emergency stop.
6 Close the landing door and enter a landing call.
7 Wait for at least 30 seconds and carefully open the landing door.
8 Verify that the car did not move from the top floor.
9 Reset the JHSG emergency stop.
10 Block the bottom landing door partially open and enter a landing call.
11 Check during at least 30 seconds that the elevator does not move from the top floor.
12 Close and lock the landing door.
13 Verify that now the elevator answers a landing call normally.
Verify that the machine brakes are able to stop the empty car and that the overtravel of the
CWT (HGP) is correct.
1 Send the car to the top floor and wait the necessary time to be sure the car has
reached the rated speed.
2 Open the bottom landing door and check that the empty car is stopped immediately
and that the brakes are able to hold the empty car.
3 Send the car to the top floor and wait the necessary time to be sure that the car is level
again with closed doors.
4 Carefully open the bottom landing door. If the CWT buffer is visible, visually check that
the CWT buffer is positioned correctly and has the correct distance to the CWT frame.
Confirm that:
y The safe access to the pit area has been checked. This check fulfills the minimum safety
requirements.
y The safe access to the car top has been checked after all relevant safety switches on
the car top have been tested. This check fulfills the minimum safety requirements.

13 Inspection Findings
Note: It is possible that items that must be addressed are not part of the contract for the elevator but are still part of
the installation and therefore are the responsibility of third parties.
Are all components connected with the installation for which the manufacturer or 12.1
installer is not directly responsible in a suitable condition to allow operation of the
elevator
→ If the answer for 12.1 is “No”, list details in J 43401256 Open Item List and
Handover NI-EI Protocol
Have all tests and inspections been carried out to confirm conformity with the 12.2
relevant regulations
→ If the answer for 12.2 is “No”, list details in J 43401256 Open Item List and
Handover NI-EI Protocol
Can the declaration of conformity be issued for this elevator 12.3
y If “No” → new inspection required (The elevator must not be approved for operation.)
y J 43401256 Open Item List and Handover NI-EI Protocol must be added to this report.
The SAIS Inspector confirms with the signature below that the original wording of the
Acceptance Inspection Report has been accepted in full.
The SAIS Inspector signing this document confirms that:
y All tests have been carried out according to the settings and procedures outlined in this
document
