METACOGNITIVE STRATEGY AND ITS EFFECT ON THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

OF SCHOOL OF EDUCATION STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSIDAD DE ZAMBOANGA


Statement of the problem
This study generally aims to determine the effect of metacognitive strategy on the
academic performance of school of education students of the Universidad de Zamboanga.
Specifically, this study attempts to answer the following questions:

1.) What is the frequency of metacognitive strategy use by the school of education students
of the Universidad de Zamboanga in terms of the number of time spent in studying per
day?

2.) What is the significant relationship between the usage of metacognitive strategy and
each of the following characteristics of the respondents:
a.) Age
b.) Gender
c.) Average grade

3.) Is there significant difference between the usage of metacognitive strategy and each of
the following characteristics of the respondents:
a.) Age
b.) Gender
c.) Average grade

4.) How does the usage of metacognitive strategy affect the academic performance of
school of education students of the Universidad de Zamboanga?
