 Monthly Report of Operations and Maintenance
For Alfil millers for both mill A and B For the Month of
December 2019

The maintenance team is pleased to present the attached Monthly report. Included is a detailed
report of operation and maintenance of both Mill A, Mill B and motor vehicle for the month of
December 2019. The maintenance team welcomes any comments or questions on this report.

Executive Summary
During last month (December), we experienced minor break downs on dampening machine,
bucket elevators and one Air-locker for B1 /B2 which were all rectified. We installed rubber
hummers on two bran finishers & micro dozer and scourer sieves on their respective frames.
The rest of the maintenance work has been preventive, corrective and daily mill routine work.
On motor vehicle side, we have carried out breakdown maintenance on several trucks majority
of which had brake systems faults. The maintenance team members also engage in daily
production activities during day and night production shifts respectively including daily and
weekly maintenance programs.

Preventive maintenance done at Mill B
We carried out daily, weekly and monthly prevent maintenance on mill B during the last month
(December), as follows;

1. Daily maintenance included blowing of mill B, draining of condensed vapor from

compressor and daily inspection of mill equipments during production to identify and
rectify any fault before intensification.
2. Weekly maintenance done in December includes;
 Cleaning of magnets in both mills
 Thorough Cleaning of intakes for both mill A and B
 Cleaning of air filters on blowers
 Cleaning of inspection glasses for rollers since these are mainly affected by
moisture.
 Cleaning dampening machine to remove rotten grain
 Blowing of low pressure fans inside mill B to avoid excessive vibrations that may
damage electric motor bearings
3. Other maintenance work done last month include;
 Clearing of water from intake of mill A, since last month has been rainy season,
water from underground raises above the intakes’ level and penetrates into the
intake.
 Maintenance of intake screw conveyor at mill B
 Clearing chocked elevators
 Sealing of water leakages on mill roofs, and clearing of debris from gutters
 Emptying choked cyclones and pipes
 Tightening of loose bolts on all equipments respectively such as vibrating motors
 Blowing inside mill B to remove all the cobwebs from the walls

This month January 2020 we are starting general greasing of Mill B

PERSONNEL

The maintenance team includes one motor vehicle & one maintenance mechanic, one welder
and two technical helpers. One technical helpers also work in production shift changeovers as
well. The team work hand in hand to deliver precise results. The team also works hand in hand
with productions team to ensure proper mill maintenance
