    Research Design

    A descriptive and correlation type of research was used to determine the reading

    ability and the level of phonological awareness of one section of the Grade 4 pupils in

    Mandaue City Central School.z

    A descriptive and survey type of research was used to determine the most common

    study habit, as well as the most & least effective study habit, challenges or hindrances a

    student encounters in studying, and their recommendations or suggestions for effective

    studying.

    Research Environment

    The study was conducted in Cebu City National Science High School located at Salvador St.,

    Labangon, Cebu City, Cebu (see location in the Figure 1 above).

    Research Respondents

    The respondents of the study were 40 Senior High School STEM Students, Grade 11

    & 12. Participants were selected randomly, disregarding whether they are in Grade 11 or

    12, as long as they are in Senior High.
