Introduction
Online Admission System The purpose of the project is to provide online facility to Institutes to
conduct online exams and to Students to give online exams. Institutes can enter and edit the
questions along with the students list. Also, they can view the result. Students can login and give
their respective exams and view their score then and there. Others can view sample papers to get
look and feel of the online examination system. Our system has two types of accessing modes,
administrator and user. Student management system is managed by an administrator. It is the job
of the administrator to admit and monitor the whole process. When a user logs in to the system.
He would only view details of the student. He can't perform any changes. The system has two
modules. They are:
User &
Administrator
Student’s logging is to apply for the course by filling an application form provided by online.
College principal/administrator logging in may also access/search information put up by the
students.

Background
The current admission system of ABC University is manual. The manual system is slow then the
computerized system. It is very time consuming. It is very complex system. It is required more
clerical work and use more man power. The current system is not user friendly. It takes too much
cost to perform procedure. In this, Paper losing or burning paper is possible. It is difficult to store
the data. Applicants need to come to the university physically for several times for different
purpose like- form fill up, submission, payment process, confirmation notice, admission exam and
result collection. This system is inconvenience for everyone especially who come from long
distance. By implementing an online system all these hustles can be removed. But to do this we
have to analyze the system properly.

Brief summary of needs

ABC University Student Admission System is a manual admission system, which creates lots of
hustle for both students and registrar staffs. Because of this process, students need to come to the
university to fill up and submit the admission form. It creates long line in the university and in the
Bank for payment process. The number of applicants is increasing day by day. As the number of the
students is increasing at a tremendous speed, manual maintenance of student admission is very
difficult. Hence, the need for online admission is inevitable. In case of manual system, they need
a lot of time, manpower etc. Here almost all work is computerized. So, the accuracy is maintained.
Maintaining backup is very easy. It can do with in a few minutes. Now it is the high time to
implement an online admission system where students can submit from anywhere and process
everything through online. As a result, student will be able to sit for admission exam from their
home or from anywhere in the world. This project report will provide all the detailed design like
DFD, USE CASE, Activity Diagram, and Sequence Diagram and State Machine. This project is
intended to eliminate all the noise from thesystem so that the system can run smoothly. Moreover,
this system will be cost efficient and will provide better service than manual process.
Proposals should be prepared simply and economically, providing a straightforward and concise
description of the Vendor’s ability to meet the requirements of this RFP.

Explanation of RFP document

This document is a Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for an ABC university Online Admissions
System. The University seeks proposals for procure and implement a solution that meets the
operational needs of the Online Admission System. The system should be fully integrated, easy
to navigate, and effectively support business processes and workflows at the core Admissions’
activities.

Conclusion
The manual admission system of ABC University is not convenient for the students, staffs and
anyone who uses this system. This system includes long waiting lines, lengthy process, time
consuming and many more problems. As a solution of these, we are proposing an online system
where students can submit application in online from anywhere. This system will receive
application from the student through online and send it to the register for verification. The system
will eliminate all the problems that were previously created for manual work and will help to
make the admission system more convenient for all.
