A Semi-detailed Lesson Plan in MAPEH 10 (Health)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:
A. Define what is communicable disease;
B. Discuss the factors that influence disease transmission and;
C. Create a slogan on how to prevent communicable diseases.
II. Subject Matter
Topic. Communicable Disease
Reference/s: Physical Education and Health- Grade 10, Learners Module First
Edition, 2013.
Materials: PowerPoint, Laptop, Speaker

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of attendance
4. Review
Motivation
The teacher will ask series of questions to the students about their
experiences of being sick or having an illness. The teacher will also ask to
students to what reason why he/she had these illnesses or diseases.
B. Activity
The teacher will group the students into 2 groups. The teacher will show a
series of picture about communicable disease then the group will
brainstorm and will give their own idea about the picture. Each group will
create their own definition of communicable diseases based on their idea
in the picture.
C. Analysis
The teacher will ask a series of questions to the students;
 What have you observed in the picture?
 Is virus dangerous to our health?
 How do we get infected?
D. Abstraction
The teacher will present a video about communicable disease and
discuss. The teacher will let the students observe the video.

E. Application
The teacher will give a series of questions to the group. The group will
answer the questions and they will discuss it in front.
 What are the factors influence disease transmission?
 What are the most common causes of communicable disease?
 How can you prevent or stop the spread of communicable disease?
 What will you advice to your friend or family if he/she tested HIV
positive?
IV. Evaluation:
The students will create a slogan a how to prevent communicable
diseases. The task will be graded according to the following criteria.

V. Assignment:
The teacher will let the students to watch a video about the proper handwashing
then they will make a reflective essay.
