CONTENT STANDARD
The learner demonstrates understanding of non-communicable diseases for a healthy life.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learner consistently demonstrates personal responsibility and healthful practices in the
prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.
I. LEARNING COMPETENCY
Given several activities, the students of Grade 7 are expected to do the following with at least 85
% proficiency;
a) Practices ways to prevent and control non-communicable diseases. (H7DD-IVf-27)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
i. Cite some ways of preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases.
ii. Perform healthful ways in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.
iii. Display obligation in preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases through
a photo collage campaign.
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greeting of the class.
2. Checking of Attendance

B. Developmental Tasks
1. Review of the Previous Lesson
The teacher will conduct a short recap about the last topic that was
discussed.
2. Motivation
Picture Analysis
Directions: Let the learners look at the pictures properly and analyze. Let them
answer the guide questions that follow:

a. By looking at the pictures alone, what do you feel? Can you say
something about it?
b. Between boys and girls, who is mostly likely to do these? Why do you
think so?
c. If you are surrounded by these vices, what could happen to you?
d. Aside from yourself, who else would be affected if you are like these?
1. Activity
ACTIVITY #1 – Use Data to See Reality!
Direction: The teacher will group the students into 3. Let each group
look at the data flashed on the board and analyze accurately. Then, let
them have an inference based on the guide questions that follow:

2. Analysis
The teacher will provide learners further inference about the data
presented by asking the following guide questions:

a) What shall be our steps to lower the number of these diseases?
b) How will you prevent and control non-communicable diseases?
c) Can you cite some ways on how to prevent and control non-
communicable disease?
3. Abstraction
The teacher will reinforce the student’s knowledge by playing a video
about the importance of preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases.

4. Application
The teacher will group the students into 4 according to their interests.
Each group will have a distinct activity that will be presented afterward.

D. EVALUATION
Photo Collage Campaign
The teacher will group the students into 2. Each group will have a
newspaper, cartolinas, glue, colored papers, and markers that will be used in the
activity.
Direction: Cut out pictures and/or you may also cut out words or phrases
from old newspapers. Craft a photo collage showing healthful ways to prevent non-
communicable diseases. Afterwards, you will be given 5 minutes to share your output
to the class. Your output will be based on the rubric below:
