Ensure JCB is fit to use/work conditions
JCB operator is competent to perform the
task.
Ensure Inspection shall be carried out
prior to activity
Ensure Medical fitness certificate for
operator
Make sure no obstacles for JCB
movement at excavation area
Restrict others entry in work area /
arrange signal man supervise the work
activity.
Use recommended safety PPE for all
work forces involved in performing the
task

Fall of stones, bricks on workmen,
legs, hand and finger injuries, trips
and falls, fall from height, fractures
and possible fatal accidents

Structure weight, deep excavated
pits, loose soil & obstacles in the
area.
Risk:
Structure hitting with transformer,
hitting workmen, tripping, falling,
failure of hydra, hand & finger, and
severe personnel injuries
Hazard:
Height work, fall of hardware’s from
height, collapse of structure

Fall from height, fractures, and fatal
accident

Arrange signal man and monitor the
works
Ensure Insurance and Third-party
Certificate is available for the lifting

Ensure lifting area is barricaded.

Suggested safe system of work:

 Ensure condition of JCB is fit to use/work condition and operator competent for the task.
 Ensure JCB/Hydra/Crane documents are correct- RC, Insurance and operator driving license
 Ensure competent work force / contractor engage for the task.
 Ensure Hydra / Crane is fit to use/work condition & appropriate for the task 1:3 lifting capacity
 Ensure Lifting gears / tackles are in usable condition and appropriate for the task 1:3 lifting capacity
 Ensure no obstacles in the area and positioning of Hydra / Crane is safe.
 Use appropriate safety PPE’s for personnel safety.
 Ensure safe work procedures are followed.
 Ensure work permit available for the work activity
