Case Whenever a chemical change occurs, we say that a chemical reaction has taken place. A
chemical reaction takes place if there is change in state, colour or temperature. We can see a
large variety of chemical reactions taking place around us. In fact, a chemical reaction
involves the breaking and making of bonds between atoms to produce new substances.
