COURSE ORIENTATION AND OVERVIEW


LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this module, the learner should be able to:
a. Identify the new normal in teaching-learning, grading system and course
overview, and
b. Share personal definition of art.

LESSON OVERVIEW
This module will introduce the new modality in teaching-learning, course
outline and overview throughout this extraordinary Academic Year 2020-2021.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
The Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC) is utilizing the flexible
learning in today’s academic year, the following are the terms that need to be
remembered as per defined in the CPSC FB Page:
1. Synchronous Learning - means that there is a real-time interaction
between teachers and students such as the use of video-conferencing
approach where both need to be online at the same time.
2. Asynchronous Learning - is a mode of instruction where learning does not
necessarily happen in the same place or at the same time for the
instructors and students. They may download learning materials posted
by their instructors in digital platforms.

B. COURSE TITLE: ARTS APPRECIATION
C. COURSE DESCRIPTION:It is a three-unit course that develops students’ ability
to appreciate, analyze and critique work of art. Through interdisciplinary and
multimodal approaches, thus course equips students with a broad knowledge of

the practical, historical, philosophical and social relevance of the arts in order to
hone students ability to articulate their understanding of the arts. The course also
develops students’ competency in researching and curating art as well as
conceptualizing, mounting and evaluating art production. This course aims to
develop students’ genuine appreciation to Philippine arts by providing them
opportunities to explore the diversity and richness and their rootedness in
Filipinoculture.
