TASK 1: BUZZ SESSION – “What a wonderful world “by Louis Armstrong (10
minutes)

1. The teacher will encourage discussion and collaboration among the students within
each group. 
 
 Divide the bigger group into 3-5 smaller groups (depending on the number
of participants per big group) with at least 8-10 students.
 Give one set of envelope with a manila paper/cartolina and a tape to each
group.
All participants are responsible for one envelope but cannot open it until all
of the instructions have been given and groups are directed to begin.
 Explain the activity to the group.
Goal:  To identify the role of human person in the environment after
listening to the music entitled “What a wonderful world “by Louis
Armstrong and answer the following questions :

What is the message of the writer? How did the song portray the practices
of person in handling its environment? The task is completed when each
team member has identified the lyrics which serve as most meaningful and
arranged the word strips according to the level of impact of prties o human
person in the environment.

(Possible answer: To describe the wonders of the world and


practices of people in dealing with the environment)

2. Students will come together in session groups that focus on a single topic. Within in
each group, every students contributes thoughts and ideas.

Instructions and Rules:  


   
• Students shall post/put their answers/outputs in a manila paper/cartolina. • Let the
students use the tape to stick/put the word strips. • If a team completes the task,
check their output. Then two groups will form a circle and hold each other’s’ hands
and share with the persons in your right and left your visions and how do you
imagine the world to be. (Facilitator/s refer to the sample set of word strips with
guide answers). • Give the participants 10 minutes accomplish the task. First group
to finish the task correctly shall receive a prize. 

Tell the group to begin.   

The activity will end when at all the group least three teams have completed the task
correctly.   
  
Ask the groups/participants who are already finish to remain silent while waiting for the
other group to finish and ask them to prepare or to present/report their output.

                

 ACTIVITY: 

TASK 2: Differentiated Me!( Group Activity) (32 minutes)

Group yourself into four (4). Choose a leader, secretary, time keeper and reporter/s.
Carefully read and follow the instructions given. The output will be presented after the
allotted time frame in the class.

Group I “I can see your song”

Listen to the song “Kapaligiran”by the group Asin. Which line do you identify is the
most significant to you? Which part of the song has greater effect on the environment?
Express it through a pantomime.

Group II. “ I-guhit mo”

In a 1/8 size illustration board. Draw an editorial cartoon showing how the group
use
 the natural resources at home and within the community. Be creative and observe 
liveliness with your drawing!”

Group III.  Collage’

Brainstorm and create a collage about the impact of “ man’s greed is the root cause
of all forms of environmental degradation”, using a newspapers, magazines
,pamphlets and etc.

Group IV.  “E-blog mo “


1. Pick a blog name for the group. Choose something that describe virtues of
prudence and frugality towards environments.
2. Get your blog on line .Register your blog and get hosting.
3. Customize your blog. Choose a free template and tweak it.
4. Write and publish your group first post. The fun part!
5. Promote the group blog. Get every member of the group and group representative
to read the group blog.

Option: “E text mo”

1. Pick a code name for the group. 


2. Create hugot lines describing virtues of prudence and frugality towards 
environments.
3. Customize your hugot lines.
4. Send your hugot lines and wait for the response. The fun part!
5. Promote the group text. Get every member of the group and group representative to
read the group text.

TASK 3: “I Do, We Do, You Do” (Individual Work) (10 minutes)

The teacher will show how to do something (“I do”), such as:
a. Re-use unused papers, old clothes, and other materials that can be reused for cleaning
purposes instead of throwing them away. 
b. Recycle products and avoid using plastics as much as possible.
c. Eat more vegetables and less meat.
d. Discourage using of woods and coals instead try to rely on alternative resources.
e. Start a day with a compost bin.
Next, she/he will invite group to do a problem with her (“we do”). Then, students will try
on their own (“you do”).

TASK 4: Task & Thinks- Twice!  (Individual Work) (5 minutes)

Choose a partner, provide answer to the guide questions given below. Share your
answers/thoughts in the class.

 ABSTRACTION:

TASK 5: Hot Seat- Pinoy Genio ?  (Session 2 :10 minutes)  

Have a list of vocabulary words prepared. Bring a chair to the front of the classroom. Split the
class into two teams and have one student from the first team sit in the chair (the “hot seat”)
facing the class. Make sure he/she cannot see behind them. Start a timer (one minute) and write
the first word on the board.

The team must say things related to that word in order to elicit that word from their teammate
sitting in the hot seat. Once the student guesses correctly, write the next word. Continue until
time runs out. The team with the most correct guesses at the end is the winner!

Brainstorm and develop a role play on “How will you apply Prudence and
frugality in using natural resources at home and in community?”

Group IV.  “ Paint my love “

Brainstorm and create a painting about “Brainstorm and create a painting that
addressed the question “How will you apply Prudence and frugality in using natural
resources at home and in community?”

TASK 7: Fishbowl : Redistributing Voices / Someone Else's Problem (20 minutes)

For this activity, you will need a small group of volunteers to be “in” the “fishbowl” to
participate in the activity. The rest of the class are “outside” of the “fishbowl” and observe
the activity take place while identifying word or phrase and write it in a piece of colored
paper ( each color represent the group). The piece of paper will be posted in the board
using a concept mapping.

 
Instructions and Rules:  
   
• Let the students in the inner group observe the following activity:
This activity is a version of the index card pass, but focuses on voicing or resolving other
people’s concerns on environmental issues.
Someone Else’s Problem:
Give each student (or group of students) are given index cards. The class is given a
question, and asked to brainstorm possible answers. For example, “What are different ways
one could address environmental issues ?” or “Given a certain situation, what are some
actions you might want to take into consideration when you aim to prevent your
contribution to pollution, and as well as save money (on health bills and fuel costs)?”.

e answers: Get a reusable water bottle, a reusable bag or two, and reusable food containers. One-time
use anything is disproportionately expensive. Instead, buy reusables and cut down on waste,
money spent, and energy put into buying new things!

Bike, walk, or whatever! Yes, another option is to drop auto altogether.


Get some exercise, and you can save money while you’re doing it. The
benefits are clear for both you and the environment.

Students on the out circle shall post/put their answers/outputs in a manila


paper/cartolina. • Let the students use the tape to stick/put the word strips. • If a team
completes the task, check their output. Then the group will be delivering their yells before
presenting their concept mapping.
