Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

refers to a specialized clothing or
equipment designed to protect
workers against safety and health
hazards that may cause serious
workplace injuries and illnesses, i.e.
protection for the body, eyes, head,
face, hands, feet, ears, etc.

LIMITATION OF PPE

• The hazard still exists.

• A defective PPE offers no protection

• The PPE may introduce additional hazard.

• Most PPE are not for continuous use.

• Improper wearing may not give maximum protection.

• It may transfer hazard to another location.

Hazards in the workplace always exists if not

properly addressed and to minimize accidents require
proper worker protection applicable in a specific type
of activity.
As a general jobsite rule, “ No PPE, No Entry” and
as a worker you always have the right to refuse to work
if PPE is not provided.
