5.3. IDENTIFICATION

Recognizing Consequences of Transition Periods

1. Considering the teacher in the video clip as your Cooperating teacher. If you are to Assist your
Cooperating Teacher in establishing classroom routines during transition period, list down how you would
assist them in establishing the classroom routines.

Before starting the lesson

1. During the flag ceremony, the students are in a line. Tell the student to remain in the line while
walking and entering the classroom.
2. Tell them to set properly while waiting for the teacher.
3. When the teacher enters the classroom, greet the teacher or other visitors.
4. Tell the student to stand up for the prayer. The field study student may lead the prayer.

During the lesson proper

1. Tell the students to set properly, listen to the teacher, and take note of the important information.
2. Assist in giving the books
3. Assist in posting the charts, or in opening the PowerPoint presentation, etc.
4. Assist in solving.
5. Help in illustrating and graphing for lessons in mathematics.

After the lesson proper

1. Assist in returning the book to the bookshelves.

2. Tell the students how to pass their paper.
3. Assist in collecting the papers or notebooks properly.
4. Help in the restoration of the teaching aids.
5. Help in checking, sorting, and recording the written task.
6. Volunteer in returning the paper after checking.

2. What could have happened if these transitional activities were not done?

The teacher planned everything before they start the lesson. Failure to plan makes teaching and
learning difficult and unsuccessful for both teacher and students. Teachers must have class routines and
they need to follow these routines every day. Routinizing classroom task saves time, effort, and
instruction. Take note that failure to do these routines can make the teaching and learning process
unorganized – the worst is no learning will happen. Always plan and have an end goal in mind.

5.5. DISSEMINATION

Designing an Organized and Happy Classroom

Based from your assisting experience in establishing routines, write your thoughts of an organized and happy
classroom.

Growth Portfolio Entry No. 5

Learning begins in the classroom. While reading a republic act, it was stated that
the school is the core of formal education. With this phrase, I can claim that in order for
learning to be effective, learning and school must work together. That is why it is critical to
create a joyful and well-organized school environment. Making a cheerful and well-
organized classroom may have a good impact on the teaching and learning processes. A
joyful classroom environment may result in a joyful student. A well-organized classroom
provides a safe and caring atmosphere for kids. Every teacher desires a pleasant and well-
organized classroom. But how can I claim it's a joyful and well-organized classroom? Let
me share my ideas for a well-organized and joyful classroom with you.
When a student enrolls at a particular school, he or she first observes the school
environment, which includes school exhibits, accomplishments, parks, buildings,
programs, students, and teachers. This might be a feature of the educational environment
that helps students feel at ease, safe, and joyful. Putting a little organization in every
aspect of the school or classroom is enough to say, "This is a pleasant and organized
school." Making a happy and organized classroom can bring a positive change in the
teaching and learning process. A happy classroom could create a happy student. An
organized classroom is a planned classroom. All teachers have thought for a happy and
organized classroom. This time, I will share mine.
Bullying and other forms of prejudice are not tolerated in a happy classroom. It
should provide a program that meets all of the learners' requirements and interests. A
secure educational atmosphere might make them happy. The classroom should be a
source of inspiration for students to have a good outlook on life. It never teaches negative
thinking or selfishness; instead, it fosters critical thinking and cooperation abilities.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Acceptance is more likely in a cheerful classroom. Nobody is denied admission for the
sake of inclusive education. This actively demonstrates that education truly is for
everyone. Everyone in the classroom is overjoyed if these items are present.
A happy classroom is one in which students may freely express their views, share
their opinions, and are not subjected to bullying or other forms of prejudice. A cheerful
classroom draws kids' attention to all four corners of the room. It should provide a program
that meets all of the needs of the students. The classroom should be a source of
inspiration for students to have a good outlook on life. In an ordered classroom, class
norms and procedures for transitional activities are established. The common
denominator of an organized classroom is planning. Teachers carefully planned what to
put on the walls, where to put the bulletin board, how often to renew the details or designs.
Most importantly, the teacher needs to plan routines before, during, and after the lessons.
Routinized collection of assignments, passing of papers, and preparation for activities
save a lot of time and effort. If there is student individuality, there is also instructor
individuality. Different teachers have various teaching techniques and ideas. As a result,
they have varied conceptions of a pleasant and ordered classroom; yet, kids' welfare and
concerns remain the teacher's first focus.
To make it feasible, extensive planning is required before to attending the
session. This learning experience teaches us the value of developing routines in the
classroom. Routines are the sign of an organized teaching environment, it also adds a
point in concluding an organized classroom. If everything in the classroom is organized
and according to plan, learners may say that classrooms are now the new happiest place
on Earth with the end goal of changing the world by giving harmony, hope, and happiness.
