FREQUENCY ADVERBS

Rewrite the complete sentence using the adverb in brackets in its usual position.

EXAMPLE:
I play tennis on Sundays. (often)
ANSWER:
I often play tennis on Sundays.

Adverbs of Frequency are used to say how often we do something.

Example : We always go swimming in summer.

Some Adverbs of Frequency are the following.

always
usually
often
sometimes
rarely
never

More Adverbs of Frequency in each category:

1) always, constantly, continually
2) usually, normally, generally
3) often, frequently, regularly
4) sometimes, occasionally, periodically
5) rarely, seldom, hardly ever
6) never, not ever

The Adverbs of Frequency are placed in a sentence as follows:

After Auxiliary verbs (Be, don’t, etc.)
Examples: He is always late for class.: He is always having an arepa with coffee for breakfast
I am often visiting my f: I am often doing exercises
I don’t usually believe him.: I don´t usually like to wear pants

Before Main Verbs

Example: He sometimes goes fishing.: He sometimes eat chicken
She never goes to the disco.: She never buys shoes

Be careful of questions and short Answers.

Example: Does the dog often bite? Does the cat often eat?
Yes, it often does.: Yes, it often does
Is he always shy? Is he always running in the morning?
No, he sometimes is. No, he sometimes
