NARRATIVE REPORT

My experience in my Immersion at home was not that easy considering the different difficulties I
encountered before and during the implementation proper due to our situation right now. One of
the challenges I encountered is on how to manage the time especially when your participants have
different business also that is why making every minute counts is really important. The process of
this immersion went well from brainstorming of ideas about the problem within the area, the
planning of the project, project proposal making, and lastly to the implementation proper. Since my
project is seminar within the family, finding resources that will going to be used is somehow
challenging for it should not only be informative but also based on facts. Researching for
information I not that easy especially the making of different presentation that will going to be used
but I enjoyed it in a way that I am also learning new things and also being able to apply my skills in
this area.

The first day of implementation is quite rough because we are all not used to on having a program
within our home especially when it comes to mental health. We first have an opening prayer and
remarks to formally start the program. Next, we did some games that we all enjoyed for it is
something that we don’t usually do which somehow helped us to have a quality time together as a
family. When it comes to the discussion, we all learned a lot about COVID-19 and to its impact to
every individual. This also helps us to have a better understanding about the pandemic that we are
dealing right now. After the discussion, we did a reflection and shared it to one another before
finally closing the program.

For the 2nd day of the project implementation, we discussed about the importance of Mental Health
and on why it should taken seriously as the other aspect of an individual. This topic is quite
sensitive to discuss but helps every one of us to be aware of it. I would say that this discussion
made our relationship deeper as a family and gave us an opportunity to talk deeper that the usual
which helped us to understand each other better. Before the program ends, we did an activity
which is painting to lighten our moods and also to enjoy the day with art. This also served as a
quality time for us.

The 3rd day of the project implementation went well as we are slowly got used to the schedule that
we have. After starting the program formally, we discussed about the impacts of COVID-19 to the
mental health and watched different documentaries about this. This session is an eye opener as
we discussed deeply about how also this pandemic affected us as a family and as an individual.
We shared our thoughts about it at the end of the discussion which helped us to be aware on what
every member o the family is going thru which enable us to understand each and everyone better
than before. We also got to discover that we are all going through a rough time during the
pandemic especially the older members of the family because of financial and other problems
which is something that we are not aware of. This day taught not only me but the other members of
the family as well to be thankful and appreciate every effort that older members exert in order for
us to survive in every day challenges.
For the 4th day of the project implementation, before we start the program proper, we played a
game which is Pinoy Henyo in order to wake our minds. After that we then discussed about the
Importance of Communication between Families and on why we should be open to everyone in
order to be understood. We all know that misunderstanding between individual is not a good thing
and could be avoided if we are only open to communicate. This is what I really wanted and for we
are not that open about our feeling and thoughts here in our home. As we share our thoughts to
everyone, I realized that this session helped us to have a healthy conversation to every members
of the family which makes our ties even stronger.

The 5th day of the implementation of the project is the last day of my immersion here in our home.
In here, we discussed the different ways on how to deal with the negative effects of COVID-19 to
the mental health, continuation of our discussion from the 3 rd day. I also included here the
importance of psychological consultation if the person needs help already which is something that
is not usually discussed here in our home. For the activity, since it is the last day of my immersion,
we decided to be cupcakes as family activity or it is something that we enjoyed doing together and
to celebrate as well. After that we ate and formally closed the program and my work immersion as
well.

All in all, the implementation of my chosen project is not that easy due to different challenges that I
faced but due to the help of my family, everything went easy to me. This also gave an opportunity
to us to be closer together. As we became aware about Mental Heath and COVID-19, we also got
a chance to understand each other even more because of the sharing of thoughts and different
activities that we did every session. Addition to this, I also realized a lot of things after the
implementation such as the hardship of every members of the family in order for us to survive, the
struggles that every one of us faces during this pandemic, and especially the importance of a
family. We are not always given an opportunity to have a time to be better now our loved ones
even more that is why I am really thankful to this project that we have in NSTP. It also taught us to
persevere and serve without anything in return. This immersion will truly be remembered.
