Subject Name :    Introduction to statistical lab

1) Aim/Overview of the practical:

1. To train students regarding how to measure relationship among variables.

2. Students get acquainted with the types of Correlation Analysis.
3. Students will able to understand the way how to find out correlation between various Variables.

2) Task to be done:

To perform Correlation Analysis and Regression Analysis.

Problem-01:

use adolescents.sav, a data file which holds psychological test data on 128 children between 12 and 14 years
old.

ANSWER: THIS TABLE SHOWS CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE GIVEN VARIABLES.

THIS IS REGRESSION TABLE.
Problem-02:

A company wants to know how job performance relates to IQ, motivation and social support. They collect data
on 60 employees, resulting in job_performance.sav. Part of these data are shown below.

THIS TABLE IS SHOWING THE CORRELATION BETWEEN ALL THE 4 GIVEN VARIABLES.
HERE IS THE REGRESSION TABLE.

3) Steps for experiment/practical:

PROBLEM 1. (PART A)

1.FIRST OPEN THE adolscents.sav file.

2.GO ON ANALYZE AND SELECT CORRELATION AND UNDER CORRELATION SELECT BI VARIATE.
3.THEN A BOX WILL BE THERE WITH DIFFERENT VARIABLES.

4.FROM THERE MOVE IQ TEST AND CURRENT SCHOOL VARIABLE UNDER THE VARIABLES BOX.AND
CLICK OK.

5.RESULTS WILL BE THERE.

(PART B).

1.FIRST OPEN THE adolscents.sav file.

2.GO ON ANALYZE AND SELECT REGRESSION AND UNDER REGRESSION SELECT LINEAR.

3. THEN A BOX WILL BE THERE WITH DIFFERENT VARIABLES.

4.THEN MOVE IQ TEST UNDER DEPENDENT VARIABLE AND CURRENT SCHOOL UNDER INDEPENDENT
VARIABLE. AND CLICK OK.

5.RESULTS WILL BE ON SCREEN.

PROBLEM 2 (PART A)

1.FIRST OPEN THE job_performance.sav file.

2.GO ON ANALYZE AND SELECT CORRELATION AND UNDER CORRELATION SELECT BI-VARIATE.

3.THEN A BOX WILL BE THERE WITH DIFFERENT VARIABLES.

4.FROM THERE MOVE ALL THE 4 VARIABLES UNDER VARIABLES BOX .AND CLICK OK.

5.RESULTS WILL BE THERE.

(PART B)

1.FIRST OPEN THE job_performance.sav file.

2.GO ON ANALYZE AND SELECT REGRESSION AND UNDER REGRESSION SELECT LINEAR.

3. THEN A BOX WILL BE THERE WITH DIFFERENT VARIABLES.

4.THEN MOVE OUTCOME OF JOB PERFORMANCE TEST UNDER DEPENDENT VARIABLE AND REST 3
VARIABLE UNDER INDEPENDENT VARIABLES . AND CLICK OK.

5.RESULTS WILL BE ON SCREEN.

4) Output
