Introducción:
English has become the language of international and intercultural communication and
trade among countries. It has the status of a lingua franca, the language for
transmission of scientific and academic knowledge, and the main door to cutting-age
technology.
Speaking English fluently is one of the abilities a 21st Century learner must develop to
have access to better life opportunities. The PFC program is committed to achieving
this goal of having students who can basically express information in regard to the
themes describe in its syllabus. Given this mandate, the new curriculum has been
sequenced so that learners reach a minimum level of English proficiency A2.
To this respect, the following sequence of themes will help students to achieve their
goal in this module.
In the first part, students will be able to learn about outdoor activities and sports such
as jogging, walking, soccer, swimming, basketball, volleyball, cycling, athletics, etc. Even
students will learn information related to healthy and harmful foods and their effects.
In the second unit students will be able to understand some information related to
common diseases and illnesses, medicines, number and percentages.
In the third unit of this module students will learn to express information in the future
tense, describe and compare places at home, neighborhood or city and specific things
that could be part of these places.
Finally in unit fourth, students will be able to give short information about celebrations
that they have during the year.
