IV. Project Rationale

Section 30 of RA 10742 also known as the Sanguniang Kabataan

Reform Act of 2015, mandates the Annual conduct an annual activity to be known
as Linggo ng Kabataan in every barangay, municipality, and province.
Amid COVID-19 pandemic, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Cayaoan,
Libueg, Bacabac, Pindangan 1st and Pindangan 2nd have joined forces together and
continue the mandate to actively engage the youth in nation building by working
closely with the Sangguniang Kabataan.
 The Linggo ng Kabataan aims to celebrate the youth in the Second District of
Municipality of Camiling and to provide an avenue for them to learn on timely and
current problems of the world, develop leadership and unity among youth in the
community with a theme: ““Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation
for Human and Planetary Health.”(International youth Day theme)
For this year’s observance of the Linggo ng Kabataan, adheres to the
Minimum Public Health Standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) as a
peremptory health requirement for the community’s safety.

V. Project Objectives
The SKs believe to the following objectives:
1. To encourage the Youth to take an active role in the fight against COVID-
19.
2. To improve the understanding of factors involved in prevention, surveillance and
control of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the principal mosquito vector of dengue virus.

3. To mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug use.

4. To encourage the youth to participate and learn to appreciate the

importance of backyard vegetable gardening during pandemic.

5.  To raise awareness to the society in the importance of planting and

saving trees, express our concern to the environment, and diminish
the unfavorable effects of climate change.

Other Objectives:
 To provide equal opportunity where youth leadership could be further
empowered through various activities, lectures and exposure.
 To promote camaraderie among SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN in the 2nd District
of Municipality of Camiling and other youth organizations.
