LEARNING MATERIALS IN AT 100-OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

*Standard Color are used to identify various physical hazard.

1. Red- danger sign
2. Yellow- Caution
3. Orange- Warning

*Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is an information sheet that identifies chemicals and their
components and the employee must inform about it.
* Lockout/Tagout is a device that is positively prevent a machine from being electrically energized,
started up and Turned up.
* OSHA require Emergency Telephone Number, Safety and Health Protection Poster and Signs
indicating exits and fire extinguisher
* The three elements of fire triangle are oxygen, fuel and earth.
* Auditory Alert are sounds that are used to caution the workers.
* Equipment hazard include electric shock, noise and injury.
*To ensure Safety the employee and employees must aware to the following:
1. Never store gasoline in a glass container.
2. Never used Ties, jewelry and loose clothing can be used while working
3. Never overload a vehicle lift.
4. Use only power tools that have been properly grounded or double insulated
5. Never water while working on equipment.
6. Technician must aware to the layout of facility
7. All evacuation routes include aisles and exit.
8. Keep tools sharp and clean as possible for the best performance
9. Automotive employee needs to be aware of fire safety.
10. OSHA requires that an accident form be completed after each accident
11. Gasoline and solvents are substances that can cause fire easily
12. Emergencies or natural events such as tornadoes, hurricanes and
earthquake.
13. Employee and employer are responsible to the workplace fire safety
14. If you encounter a fire incident you must raise the alarm immediately.
15. Be calmly when are in the evacuation place.
16. Smoke detector must tested weekly.
17. Lockout- Tagout training are given to authorized employee, Affected Employees and other
employee
*Machine Guard is plates and covers that go over hazardous equipment parts.
*If the machine guard is missing you must report to the supervisor and never use the machine.
* Safety Notices and sign must observe for the welfare of the employees, employees and customers.
