Yes, all the subjects contribute significantly to the development of cultural literacy and

artistic expression, the goals of music and art teaching.

2. Reimer describes aesthetic education as “the development of a sensitivity to the aesthetic

qualities of things.” He consciously avoids using the term “definition” yet provides a much-

appreciated explanation that achieves that function. Having a sense of sensitivity and idea about

the aesthetics of things a certain subject would be more beautiful and interesting to study.

Bennett Reimer has contributed much to the discussion and development of the value of aesthetic

education for the teaching and learning of music. Reimer’s music philosophy is situated within a

historical context in which aesthetic education was becoming an ideal in vogue. this philosophy

would explain that music is an essential part of a child’s education because emotional and

aesthetic education are essential to the human experience. When we study music, we form self-

knowledge and gain deeper access to our emotional lives. This kind of education that promotes

an understanding of beauty, emotion, and expression is only possible through music.

Reimer emphasizes that we (as music educators) need not establish discipleship to one

particular person or point of view of aesthetic education. The ideal of “Music Education as

Aesthetic Education” (MEAE) does not exist as a particular collection of fixed certainties; it

supports the attitude that philosophical truths develop and transform as we advance and verify

new ideas.

With that the author wants to convey how important teaching art is. It is indeed a vital factor

for the attainment of the learning objectives of every topic in any subject. Art is very powerful
tool to turn discussion into something lively and engaging. It is one of the instruments to make

the teaching-learning process become effective and efficient.
