“PROPER DISPOSAL OF WASTE”

1. Can a simple disposing of waste change the lifestyle of people?

2. How to avoid excessive waste disposal?

RESEARCH BACKGROUND

One important step to implementing a low-waste lifestyle is reducing the amount

of disposable items you use. By cutting back or eliminating single-use items, you can
save the energy and materials that went into them and prevent waste. It’s important to
keep in mind that reusable items take energy and resources to produce as well, so the
general rule with reusable is to use them repeatedly and consistently to offset their
environmental impact. Improper waste disposal is the major problem of the residents in
Brgy. Kiwalo. This problem was defined as incinerating, throwing their garbage on the
well and the lack of garbage collection. This problem could harm not only the residents
but also the environment itself. The knowledge of the residents about their current
situation is based on their own experiences. Although they were able to give advice to
people that might experience the same situation by segregating their waste properly but
since they don’t have enough funds to support garbage truck collection they resulted to
the incinerating of their garbage.

HYPOTHESIS

“If you increase the number of rubbish bins around then it will be easier for people to
follow proper waste disposal and incineration”
EXPERIMENT

We conducted an experiment with the help of our Hon. Kagawad by opening the “Brgy.
Trash Station” near the open street. We observe people who cooperatively use the
trash station every week and record the data’s we gathered.

present there is very little awareness exists regarding this issue in our society. The
practices of bringing forth waste are too risky not only for today but they could be
dangerous for our future generation.
