X. Rationale of the Project
Before the COVID-19 pandemic caused this new normal system, Barangay Soro-soro, Ilaya
Batangas City is already experiencing the water shortage. Even if there was a power supply or
not, the water supply is losing. This pandemic makes it difficult for the residents to conserve
their water. They need to always stay clean and wash their hands to prevent and protect
themselves in the virus. This proposed project will prevent the similar happenings in COVID-19
pandemic and become a solution to this problem. With the help of National Service Training
Program (NSTP) students can take part in making a difference in the community and themselves,
and with this, one of the program’s under it is the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) which
empowers the students to perform activities outside the university and in the community.
The proposed project entitled “PROJECT COW: Conservation of Water” will help the
community to conserve water and maintain their safety in the virus. This would help the
residents to be discipline, in order to protect themselves as well as the community. By helping
the residents to have a source of water in times of need will also help them to keep away from
the virus and other bacteria. They will also feel assured and secured. They will also enjoy their
time learning to protect themselves rather than worrying. These activities would help not only in
the community but the also people by supporting and empowering each other to make a
difference and have a better environment.

XI. Objectives
 To implement to the community the importance of having source of clean water.
 To encourage the people in community to conserve water.
 To inform people, so they could protect themselves and prevent from the virus .
 To be able to have a source of clean water in times of need.

XII. Description of the Project, Strategies, and Methods / Plan of Action


The proposed project entitled “PROJECT COW: Conservation of Water” aims to
establish solidarity in each other, secured the community and have a clean source of water in
times of need.

I, the NSTP-CWTS student, will be the ones to provide the necessary materials and
supplies needed for the said project. These materials are expected to help us and the participants
meet the objectives of the activity.

1. Information Planning
This part of the project is the most important because it will be the foundation
of the whole activity. Through brainstorming, conceptualization synthesis, and
compilation of the ideas, I, with the help Barangay Officials and Sangguniang
Kabataan will be able to produce a creative and effective project that will surely help
each individual as well as the community as a whole.

2. Planning
The next stage is the actual planning of the whole project. This step will
provide a detailed schedule of each activity everyday session. Also, this step will
produce an official breakdown of the activities that are necessary for the project’s
success.
3. Coordination and Communication
Through proper communication with the staff, administration, and community
officials, we will be able to conduct the said project. Moreover, with the collaboration of
the barangay official and some people assistance through financial support and the
resident of the barangay through their moral support, the proposed project will be made
possible.

 Plan of Action

Day 1 8:00 am-9:30 am Orientation Proper:
At the first day or the session,
there will be small Orientation
where will be tackling the said
activity and a few message of
the Barangay Captain. For the
remaining hours I, together
with the Sangguniang
Kabataan will demonstrate
and give tips on how to
properly conserve their water.
We will give tips such us
cleaning their tubs every time
they are going to conserve
water. Also, using their used
water to clean their terrace or
bathroom to conserve water.
9:30 am- 10:00 am Distribution of Bins
Barangay Officials will be
distributing the storage
bins/tubs to the participants
Day 2 - Day 8 8:00 am- 10:00 am Visitation and Monitoring:
I, with the Barangay Officials,
Sangguniang Kabataan and
volunteers from youth
association will visit each
participants house to see if
they store their water properly.
This would help the
participants to always
remember to conserve water

It will have a meeting where
in I, will give the Certificate
of Appreciation to the
participants as well as the
volunteers and officias of the
barangay.The officials will
announce the winner of the
competition and give the cash
prize.

XIII. Financial Plan / Proposed Expenditures / Fund Raising Activities


This project cannot be made possible if there were no financial assistance from the student
as well as the other proponents of the activity. The student donated a small amount of money and
asked for some assistance, in some people for them to acquire the desired amount needed for the
project. Transactions must be transparent and should be given the right amount of money
expenditure to be able to manage it wisely. Below is the breakdown of items, materials, and
supplies that are necessary for the project.

XIV. Functional Relationships with the Collaborating Agencies/ Duties / Responsibilities of


Agencies Involved
 We, the NSTP Students, are expected to meet all the objectives of the proposed project at
the end of the activity. As the proponents of the project, it is our responsibility to be helpful
for our chosen community. I am expected to do the following tasks for the success of the
project:
 To be able to implement a project for the community
 To be able to help and collaborate to the community officials
 To be able to organize the proposed project
 To be able to meet all the objectives of the proposed project
 Our NSTP Instructor, Mrs. Michelle Abania, will serve as our guide and counsellor
towards the implementation of the project. The requirements and documents needed to
implement the project will also be tackled to us before the implementation.  Moreover, she
will be monitoring us to make sure that we are doing our project well and organized.

 The NSTP Office aims to develop the social skills of the 21st century learners through
engaging them in a community-based project. This will help the students of NSTP to be
awakened on the reality of life outside the university. Through these activities, the youth will
be immersed and will be active participants of their respective communities.

 Barangay Soro-soro, Ilaya will cooperate with us through promoting this activity and
giving announcement about the project. They will also help us to attain our goals and meet
our objectives through giving us the consent of implementing it to their community.

XV. Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanics


 Videos and Photographs
o This part of the of the project will be use to monitor and to recognize the project.
It will also serve as proof that the said project is implemented.
 Giving the Storage Bins/Tubs
o This part of the project will help the participants to easily conserve water. It will
also help them to do this activity immediately.
 Recognition
o Certificates of Appreciation will be given to the participants of the project. A
reward must be given to the participants that maintain to do this activity.

XVI. Plans for Ensuring the Sustainability of the Project


 One visible output of this off-campus activity is the Conservation of Water, which will be
held at the front yard or backyard of every house in Barangay Soro-soro Ilaya. This is a
project that will help the people to have a source of clean water in times of need.
