1. GENERAL
PURPOSE
The method statement must ensure that the installation of HVAC Equipment is carried
out safely, and in accordance with good engineering practices, as per project
specifications.
This method statement is intended to provide general guidance and establish controls

5. RESPONSIBILITIES:
5.1. The Mechanical work Site Engineer (MSE) shall be responsible for the implementation
of this Method Statements is as follows
A) Ensure that the delivery equipment compiled with approved submittal&
specification
B) Coordination with main contractor at site for the required access and for the
preparation of concrete pads of HVAC Equipment’s
C) Monitoring and supervise the installationof HVAC Equipment
5.2. The Surveyor shall be responsible for providing the correct reference, elevation, invert
.level, location and position at site if required
A) Secure approvals of MRI for the delivered HVAC equipment prior to start the
installation.
B) Prior to start of works, it shall be ensured that the relevant shop drawings are
approved and issued for construction.
C) Ensure that the concrete pads are released from civil (paint inspection), cleaned,
free from dust, debris and other unnecessary materials.
D) Ensure that there is proper and enough access inside & outside the Mechanical
Room in order to execute the works freely.
E) Mechanical Rooms shall be cleared of unnecessary equipment and materials to
avoid tripping / blocking which may cause delay or injury.
F) Prepare proper handling equipment such as lifting beams, reinforced canvas
slings, protective padding, struts, cradles, rollers, etc., required to handle the
HVAC equipment without damaging hardware, linings or coatings.
G) Coordinate with other trades (civil, electrical, firefighting, etc.) and HSE for proper
and safe procedures.
H) Upon receipt of materials at warehouse it will be inspected by store man for any missing
parts, damage, deformations or dent to external surface. Ensure that they are as per the
project requirements.
I) If any of the item found have damage or not meeting the project requirements, a damage
report shall be initiated jointly by the construction/stores/QC and a corrective action shall
be prompted.
A) Any minor damage in nature shall be immediately attended before it is accepted for site

J) Any shortage or damage identified during the inspection will be recorded and shall be
reported and corrective action shall be taken.
K) The storage area will be dry and free from water and moisture.
L) The materials will be shifted to the site by proper means of transport, by using approved
and certified lifting equipment. Smaller quantities shall be hand carried or transported in
pick-ups to where it is intended to be used.
M) HVAC Equipment shall be clearly identified for its location through the name plate and as
per AFC drawings.
7. INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT’S
N) Approved Rubber pads/ vibration isolators shall be provided between AHU base
and concrete pad as indicated in the drawing.
O) Ensure that the newly installed AHUs are properly aligned and levelled.
P) Secure the AHUs by providing angular stopper on all four corners.
Q) The stopper will be fixed to the concrete base by means of drop in anchors.
R) Supply Air, Return Air and Fresh Air Ducts shall be isolated from Air Handling Units
by means of Flexible duct connector.
S) Metal ducts will be grounded and will be provided with jumpers at flexible
connections in HVAC Room.
T) Connect the refrigerant piping network to the air handling unit as per approved shop
drawing.
U) The refrigerant pipe size should be as per Manufacturer’s recommendation as
shown in the approved shop drawings.
V) Drain pans shall be connected with pipe as per approved material submittal.
W) Condensate drain pipes shall be connected to a trap. Trap water seal shall not be
less than the external static pressure of Air Handling Unit.
X) All electrical connections will be as per manufacturer’s recommendation and should
be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
Y) Site Engineer shall ensure that the installation of the Air Handling Unit is carried out
in accordance with manufacturer's installation recommendations and specification.
Z) Provide protective covering for the newly installed equipment at all times until start-
up to avoid external damage.
AA) Pre-filter and bag filters shall be installed prior to start-up of equipment.
BB) All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer
recommendations.
7- B Air Cooled Condensing Units
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of air-cooled Condensing units:
G) Wooden blocks will be removed from the equipment manually prior to placing the
equipment in foundation.
H) If necessary, hydraulic jacks can be used to assist the workers in setting the Air-
Cooled Condensing Units to the concrete pad.
I) ACCU shall be mounted on a concrete pad at minimum of 100mm above the floor.
J) Ensure that the orientation of ACCU is matching with direction as shown in the
approved shop drawings.
K) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the units as per approved equipment submittals
and shop drawings. Ensure the unit model number, location, and tag nos. are same
as indicated.
L) Ensure the base is free from corrosion and factory used touch-up paint shall be
applied if necessary.
M) Approved Rubber pads/ spring vibration isolators shall be provided between ACCU
base and concrete pad as indicated in the drawing.
N) Ensure that the newly installed ACCUs are properly aligned and levelled.
O) Secure the ACCUs by providing angular stopper on all four corners.
P) The stopper will be fixed to the concrete base by means of drop in anchors.
Q) Connect the refrigerant piping network to the air-cooled condensing unit as per
approved shop drawing.
R) The refrigerant pipe size should be as per Manufacturer’s recommendation as
shown in the approved shop drawings.
S) All electrical connections will be as per manufacturer’s recommendation and should
be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
T) Site Engineer shall ensure that the installation of the Air-Cooled Condensing Unit is
carried out in accordance with manufacturer's installation recommendations and
specification.
U) All equipment shall be grounded in accordance with NFPA-70.
V) Provide protective covering for the newly installed equipment at all times until start-
up to avoid external damage.
W) If spring isolators are to be used, the installation of spring isolator shall be in
accordance with weight recommended & selection of isolator as per Aramco
standard and manufacturer recommendation.
X) All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
7- C Chemical Filter Units
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of chemical filter units:
C) Cut all banding (if applicable) loose from skid but do not remove the skids until the
unit is shifted to the installation area.
D) Check the equipment weight to ensure that the rigging equipment can handle the
load safely.
E) Wooden blocks will be removed from the equipment manually prior to placing the
equipment in foundation.
F) Chemical Filter Units shall be transported to installation site by trailer and shall be
loaded and unloaded by means of crane.
G) CFU shall be mounted on a concrete pad at minimum of 100mm above the floor.
H) Chemical Filter Units will be lowered to skid or roller inside the Mechanical Room
and then manually shifted to its concrete pads.
I) Hydraulic jacks and/ or chain blocks can be used to assist the workers in setting the
Chem. Filter Units to the concrete pad.
J) Ensure that the orientation of CFU's is matching with direction of intake and
discharge duct.
K) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the unit as per approved equipment submittals
and shop drawings. Ensure the unit model number, location, and tag nos. are same
as indicated.
L) Ensure the base is free from corrosion and factory used (RAL 9002) touch-up paint
shall be applied if necessary.
M) Approved Rubber pads/ vibration isolators shall be provided between CFU base
and concrete pad as indicated in the drawing.
N) Ensure that the newly installed CFUs are properly aligned and levelled.
O) Secure the units by providing angular stopper on all four corners.
P) The stopper will be fixed to the concrete base by means of drop in anchors.
Q) Intake Air and Discharge Air Ducts shall be isolated from Chemical Filter Units by
means of Flexible duct connector.
R) Metal ducts will be grounded and will be provided with jumpers at flexible
connections in HVAC Room.
S) All electrical connections will be as per manufacturer’s recommendation and should
be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
T) Site Engineer shall ensure that the installation of the Chemical Filter Unit is carried
out in accordance with manufacturer's installation recommendations and
specification.
U) Provide protective covering for the newly installed equipment at all times until start-
up to avoid external damage.
V) Filters shall be installed prior to start-up of equipment.
W) All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of Inertial Filter with Bleed Fans:
A) Materials shall be submitted for Consultant approval before proceeding with
installation.
B) Visually inspect the exterior casing of the Inertial Filter for any damages
during transporting and transferring of the units.
C) Cut all banding (if applicable) loose from skid but do not remove the skids until the
unit is shifted to the installation area.
D) Inertial Filter with Bleed Fans will be transported to site by truck and shall be
loaded and unloaded manually or by means of a crane or fork lift.
E) Wooden blocks will be removed from the equipment manually prior to placing the
equipment in foundation.
F) Inertial Filter Unit will be lowered to skid or roller inside the Mechanical Room and
then manually shifted to its concrete pads.
G) Hydraulic jacks and/ or chain blocks can be used to assist the workers in setting
the Inertial Filter Unit to the concrete pad.
H) Ensure that the orientation of IF and Bleed Fans is matching with direction of
intake and discharge duct.
I) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the units as per approved equipment submittals
and shop drawings. Ensure the unit model number, location, and tag nos. are
same as indicated.
J) Ensure the base is free from corrosion and factory used touch-up paint shall be
applied if necessary.
K) Secure the units by providing angular stopper on all four corners.
L) The stopper will be fixed to the concrete base by means of drop in anchors.
M) Intake Air and Discharge Air Ducts shall be isolated from Bleed Fans by means of
Flexible duct connector.
N) Metal ducts will be grounded and will be provided with jumpers at flexible
connections in HVAC Room.
O) All electrical connections will be as per manufacturer’s recommendation and
should be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
P) Site Engineer shall ensure that the installation of the Inertial Filter Unit and Bleed
Fans is carried out in accordance with manufacturer's installation
recommendations and specification.
Q) Provide protective covering for the newly installed equipment at all times until
start-up to avoid external damage.
R) All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

7-ESingle PackagedUnits
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of packaged units
A) Visually inspect the exterior casing of the Packaged Units for any damages during
transporting and transferring of the units.
B) Cut all banding (if applicable) loose from skid but do not remove the skids until the
unit is shifted to the installation area.
C) Check the equipment weight to ensure that the rigging equipment can handle the
load safely.
D) Packaged unit will be transported to installation site by trailers and shall be loaded
and unloaded by means of crane.
E) All Packaged Units will be lowered directly to its concrete pads.
F) Wooden blocks will be removed from the equipment manually prior to placing the
equipment in foundation.
G) If necessary, hydraulic jacks can be used to assist the workers in setting the
Packaged Units to the concrete pad.
H) Packaged units shall be mounted on a concrete pad at minimum of 100mm above
the floor.
I) Ensure that the orientation of Packaged units is matching with direction as shown in
the approved shop drawings.
J) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the units as per approved equipment submittals
and shop drawings. Ensure the unit model number, location, and tag nos. are same
as indicated.
K) Ensure the base is free from corrosion and factory used touch-up paint shall be
applied if necessary.
L) Approved Rubber pads/ spring vibration isolators shall be provided between
Packaged base and concrete pad as indicated in the drawing.
M) Ensure that the newly installed Packaged are properly aligned and levelled.
N) Secure the packaged by providing angular stopper on all four corners.
O) The stopper will be fixed to the concrete base by means of drop in anchors.
P) All electrical connections will be as per manufacturer’s recommendation and should
be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
Q) Site Engineer shall ensure that the installation of the Packaged Unit is carried out in
accordance with manufacturer's installation recommendations and specification.
R) All equipment shall be grounded in accordance with NFPA-70.
S) Provide protective covering for the newly installed equipment at all times until start-
up to avoid external damage.
T) If spring isolators are to be used, the installation of spring isolator shall be in
accordance with weight recommended & selection of isolator as per Aramco
standard and manufacturer recommendation.

7- FExhaust Fans:
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of Exhaust Fans:
A) Materials shall be submitted for Consultant approval before proceeding with
installation.
B) Visually inspect the exterior casing of the Exhaust Fans for any damages
during transporting and transferring to site.
C) Exhaust Fans will be transported to site by truck and shall be loaded and unloaded
manually or by means of a crane or fork lift.
D) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the Exhaust Fans as per approved equipment
submittals and shop drawings. Ensure the Exhaust Fan number location shall be
same as indicated.
E) Exhaust Fans shall be installed using approved materials for Hangers & Supports
applicable to Battery Rooms.
F) Provide canvass flexible connections between the ducts & exhaust fans to
minimized vibrations.
G) Metal ducts will be grounded and will be provided with jumpers at flexible
connections.
H) All wiring and termination works will be as per approved drawings/ wiring diagram
and should be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
I) Provide protective covering for the newly installed Exhaust Fans at all times until
start-up to avoid external damage.
J) All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
7- GElectric duct heaters
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of Electric duct heaters:
A) Materials shall be submitted for Consultant approval before proceeding with
installation.
B) Visually inspect the exterior casing, Elements & control panel of the heater for
anydamages during transporting and transferring to site.
C) Electric duct heater will be transported to site by truck and shall be loaded and
unloaded manually at the location of installation
D) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the electric duct heater as per approved
equipment submittals and shop drawings. Ensure the Heater number location shall
be same as indicated.
E) Electric duct heaters shall be installed using approved materials for Hangers &
Supports and location as per approved HVAC shop drawings.

to avoid external damage.
All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of A/C precision units:
A) Materials shall be submitted for Consultant approval before proceeding with
installation.
B) Visually inspect the exterior casing for any damages during transporting and
transferring to site.
C) Blower coil & Condensing units will be transported to site by truck and shall be
loaded and unloaded manually or by crane at the location of installation
D) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the precision units is as per approved equipment
submittals and shop drawings. Ensure the A/C number location shall be same as
indicated
E) Electric duct heaters shall be installed using approved materials for Hangers &
Supports and location as per approved HVAC shop drawings.
F) Metal ducts will be grounded and will be provided with jumpers at flexible
connections.
G) All wiring and termination works will be as per approved drawings/ wiring diagram
and should be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
H) Provide protective covering for the newly installed Heaters at all times until start-up
to avoid external damage.
All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
7- IDDC Panels:
The following procedure shall be followed for the installation of DDC Panel:
A) Materials shall be submitted for Consultant approval before proceeding with
installation.
B) Visually inspect the exterior casing of the DDC Panel for any damages
during transporting and transferring to site.
C) Cut all banding (if applicable) loose from skid but do not remove the skids until the
Panel is shifted to the installation area.
D) DDC Panel will be transported to site by truck and shall be loaded and unloaded
manually or by means of a crane or fork lift.

E) DDC Panel will be lowered to skid or roller inside the Mechanical Room and then
manually shifted to its concrete pads.
F) Equipment Tag No. is provided in the DDC Panel as per approved equipment
submittals and shop drawings. Ensure the Panel number location shall be same as
indicated.
G) Ensure the base is free from corrosion and factory used touch-up paint shall be
applied if necessary.
H) Secure the Panel by providing angular stopper on all four corners or by fixing the
DDC Panel directly to the concrete base by means of drop in anchors.
I) All wiring and termination works will be as per approved drawings/ wiring diagram
and should be carried out by skilled electrician/ technician.
J) Provide protective covering for the newly installed DDC Panel at all times until start-
up to avoid external damage.
K) All installation activities will be in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
8- HVAC QUALITY CONTROL
A) DX Type Air Handling Unit (AHU) and ACCU Installation shall be inspected and
approved in accordance to Saudi Aramco Inspection Checklist
B) Chemical Filter Unit Installation shall be inspected in accordance to Saudi Aramco
Inspection Checklist
c. Equipment’shandling precautions.
