RC sections under Shear and Flexure (USLS design)

 Design according to Code ECP 203/2017 requirements, assume any missing data reasonably.
 Materials: Concrete C30 , Steel use Gr. 400 & for stirrups use steel Gr. 240

1) FIG. 1 shows a RC Simple Beam spaced at 4 m, Calculate the maximum uniformly


distributed factored load (wu) that can be carried by the beam critical sections for both

flexure and shear, the beam is reinforced for shear by V stirrups and bent up bars as shown
in Fig.1.

2) For the beam shown in FIG. 2 spaced at 4 m and loaded by working loads (wD = 30 kN/m &
wL = 16 kN/m ) for deflection limit t ≮ L/14 , design the critical sections for flexure and shear,
then draw the rft. details for the longitudinal section and cross sections to scale 1:20
