1. In your opinion, why is planning very important in teaching?

A. It is very important to create a plan and try to understand “how to teach,

what to teach, and why to teach”. The teacher must present the information
in such a way that it resonates and students feel the importance of learning it.
This is possible when proper preparation and planning are done and will
ultimately benefit the students.

B.  It gives teachers the opportunity to think deliberately about their choice of

lesson objectives, the types of activities that will meet these objectives, the
sequence of those activities, the materials needed, how long each activity
might take, and how students should be grouped.

C. It ensures your student’s time in the classroom is worthwhile. As their

teacher, you should tie all activities to specific learning objectives and
connect your daily lessons to all long-term units.

2. Why is planning and organizing effective for Teaching?

A. A well-planned class reduces stress on the teacher and helps minimize

disruptions. When teachers know what they need to accomplish and how
they are going to do it, they have a better opportunity to achieve success
with the added benefit of less stress.

B. It will develop the skills required to facilitate learning. Teachers should

realize that they must engage their students in learning and provide
effective means to facilitate students' independent learning. Hence, teachers
need good planning, organization and effective management of available
resources.

C. Teachers need to maintain organization in order for their classrooms to run

smoothly and efficiently. Classroom organization can be broken down into
the three categories that can be referred to as the three Ps: planning,
paperwork, and physical space.
1. In your opinion, what are the 5 methods and strategies of teaching that
are very effective in Teaching Science in elementary?

 The Inquiry Approach Characteristics - Inquiry-based learning helps

students make their own connections about what they learn. Their curiosity
helps them engage and gain a deeper understanding of topics and content,
instead of primarily memorizing and recalling rules, ideas or formulas.
When students solve problems themselves, they internalize conceptual
processes.

 Discussion - Discussion is important to learning in all disciplines because it

helps students process information rather than simply receive it. Using
discussions as a primary teaching method allows you to stimulate critical
thinking. As you establish a rapport with your students, you can demonstrate
that you appreciate their contributions at the same time that you challenge
them to think more deeply and to articulate their ideas more clearly.

 Demonstration - Demonstrations are important because they provide students

with experiences of real events, phenomena and processes, helping them
learn and raise students' interest and motivation.

 Experimenting - The experimentation is essential for science teaching

because it allows the practical activities to integrate teacher and students, to
provide a joint planning in which teacher and student construct the process
of the activity and the use of teaching techniques that can lead to a better
understanding.

 Project constructing - It develops the child's ability to work with his or her
own, peers, building teamwork and group skills. It also allows the teacher to
learn more about the child as a student.
2. How important is the method and strategies in Teaching Science?

Teaching methods are an important aspect of teaching and learning, it

determine the activities of teachers and students, the quality of the teaching
process, implicitly sending a message about what teaching is, how children
learn what is knowledge. Strategies promote flexible thinking and teach
students the importance of shifting their approaches to different tasks.
Strategies encourage independent learning. Strategy use helps students to
become more efficient and more effective learners.

3. Does the given methods and strategies above are helpful and effective in
teaching? Why and why not?

Yes, because students can learn more when their teachers use effective

teaching methods. In effective teaching, the teacher uses certain approaches
and tools to help the student learn and flourish. One purpose of teaching is to
build up the students' abilities to remember the material learned and figure
things out for themselves. Effective teaching, includes giving students the
chance to work independently in a way that builds up their own critical
thinking, as well as their confidence in the material. When going over
homework assignments, make sure students know they have to work
independently rather than getting help from parents or peers.
