Introduction

Thank you for choosing a Pixsys device.

The ATR500 holds the high configurability offered by Pixsys tools.
You can choose from a wide range of sensors (TC, RTD, linear
signals and potentiometers) and control up to 4 alarm relays.
Customized linearization up to 16 steps for linear inputs further
increases its configurability.

Although this device was designed to resist noises in

industrial environments, please notice following safety
guidelines:
• Distinguish the main power line from other power
lines.
• Avoid placing near circuit breakers,
electromagnetic meters, high-power motors.
• Avoid placing near power units, particularly
if phase control units.

For PT100, NI100 thermo resistance
• For connecting to three-wire probes
use cables with the same section
• For connecting to 2-wire probes

For linear signals in current and

voltage
• Pay attention to polarities
• To have 10V to terminal 16
available, insert jumper JP4 as
shown in the figure (default). To
have 12V remove jumper JP4.

4. 4. Function of displays and keys

4.1 Numeric indicators (display)

1 Normally displays process, but can also
display setpoint.
In configuration displays the parameter code
being entered or the value of the parameter
itself.
If the overall flow display is enabled then the
process (instant flow) and overall flow are
shown.

4.2 Meaning of status lights (LED)

2 Lights up when output OUT1 (relay Q1/SSR) is
active. Blinks when the setpoint SET 1 is
displayed.

9
3 Lights up when output OUT2 (relay Q2/SSR) is
active. Blinks when the setpoint SET2 is
displayed.
4 Lights up when output OUT3 (relay Q3/SSR) is
active. Blinks when the setpoint SET3 is
displayed and when the output is disabled.
5 Lights up when output OUT4 (relay Q4/SSR) is
active. Blinks when the setpoint SET4 is
displayed and when the output is disabled.

4.3 Keys
6 • When the process is displayed you can
increase the setpoint by pressing the

key.
• When configuring it allows you to scroll

through parameters. Press the

key to increase them.
• If the overall flow display is enabled
then it shows the process for 3
seconds.
7 • When the process is displayed you can
decrease the setpoint by pressing the

key.
• When configuring it allows you to scroll

through parameters. Press the

key to decrease them.

10
8 • If pressed for at least 2 seconds it allows
the configuration input.
• For potentiometer input it enables manual
calibration.
9 • Displays setpoints.
• When configuring it allows changes to
parameters.

5. Main features

5.1 Change setpoint

Setpoints can be changed as follows:

5.2 Display overall process/flow
If the overall flow display is enabled then the process (see
parameter ) it is possible to change what is displayed.
If the parameter is configured as , or
, the display normally shows the overall flow (for
example: If the sensor connected has a 4…20mA output with a full
scale of 2000m³/ora, then the parameter must be
configured as , and the display will show the total
volume of fluid from the last RESET/START signal to the current
instance.
If the total flow exceeds the amount that can be displayed (5 digits,
), the display divides the information into two parts. If
for example the flow is 3,875,612m³ the display shows
(the first part) then (the second part).
The overall flow will reset once the value reaches 99,999,999m³
Press Effect Action
1 Displays value of
process (instant
value).
2 Wait 3 seconds: The
display shows the flow
again (overall value).

13
5.3 Manual calibration for potentiometer input
For linear potetiometers input it is possible to associate the value
at the bottom of the scale (parameter ) to the lowest
position of the sensor and the top of the scale (parameter
) to the highest position.

Refer to the following table for set-up:

15
5.4 Function LATCH ON
For linear inputs (0…1V, 0…10V 10 or 16 bit, 0…20mA,
4…20mA) and potentiometers: beside low and high limits of scale
( and for linearization in two points or
and for linearization up to 16 steps), it is
possible to fix also the point at which the device must visualize
zero.

If parameter is set as , when digital

input I3 will be activated, the device will visualize zero.
When parameter is selected as , digital
input I3 will activate RESET of flow.

5.5 Min./max peaks

For linear inputs (0…1V, 0…10V 10 or 16 bit, 0…20mA,
4…20mA) and potentiometers it is also possible to visualize (and
set to zero) the minimum and maximum values (peaks) read by the
connected input.
Quando display visualizes process value, follow the points below:

of I3 will automatically set to zero both values.

17
5.6 Linear input linearization in 16 steps
For linear inputs (0…1V, 0…10V 10 and 16 bit, 0…20mA and
4…20mA) it is possible to customize linearization.
In most cases the input is linearized in 2 points (minimum and
maximum corresponding to and
respectively (parameter set as ).
For these inputs the parameter can be set as
. In this case actual linearization is made thought the
parameter , otherwise not viewed.
When configuring, if the parameter is displayed,
