 A. INTRODUCTION

Sun Temple is a residential society located at the Nehrunagar Crossroads, Ambavadi,

Ahmedabad. It has 6 blocks namely A, B, C, D, E & F. The visual inspection is carried out
for the accessible portion of Block C internally and externally. It also includes few
external observations made in other blocks of Ojas apartments.

The apartment being located in the prime location of CBD in the city centre and in
transit zone, many builders have approached Ojas apartment with the proposal of
redevelopment. But some of the residents are against the redevelopment plan which
led to dispute between the residents.

None of the drawings, sections, elevations or floor plans were received from the Ojas
apartment and thus sketches were prepared according to the measurements taken
during the survey.

General Methodology:
For the visual inspection of the building, the following SOP/methodology was adopted:
 Visiting the site as and when required.

 Measuring the outline for preparation of working drawings, in absence of as built

drawings.

 Preparation of line layout drawings of the buildings and structures.

 Visual verification of Buildings & Structures in all possible/accessible areas and

recording the findings with photographic evidence and distress mapping in
layout drawings.

 Visual verification of settlement of the foundation.

 Visual verification of any injurious defect in concrete like cracks/exposed

reinforcement/dampness, etc.

 Analyse the observation and submitting a conclusion/ recommendation.

 Drafting a final report based on observations and findings.
