UNION and INTERSECTION

Consider the Sets A= { 1,2,4,5,7 } and B= { 2,3,5,7,9 } ,
We can form a new sets such as
C= { 1,2,3,4,5,7,9 }
D= { 2,5,7 },
Set C is formed by combining the elements of Sets A and B.
Set C is the UNION of SETS A and B
Set D is formed by getting the elements common to Sets A and B.
Set D is the INTERSECTION of SETS A and B.

SET UNION
The union of Sets A and B, written as A ∪B and read as “A union B” is the set
elements that belong to A or B (or to both)
SET INTERSECTION
The Intersection of Sets A and B, written as A ∩ B and read as “A intersection B” is
formed by getting the elements that are common to Both A and B.
