Experiment
1. A single phase motor can be started in any direction. When the start button is pressed
the motor must start rotating in one direction. When the motor rotates in one direction,
the opposite direction start button should be inactive until the stop button is pressed.
The emergency stop button must stop the motor immediately at all times.
1-1. Design/ draw a labelled main and control circuit where motor A starts before
motor B. Both motors can be stopped independently. The emergency stop button
must stop immediately at all times.
1-2. Motor B can only be started after motor A has been running. If motor A is
stopped, motor B must also stop. The emergency stop button must be stop both
motors immediately.
1-3. Motor B can only be started after motor A has been running. If motor A is
stopped while motor B is still running, motor A cannot be re-started until motor B
is stopped. The emergency stop button must stop both motors immediately.
1-4. If the core loss is 250W and friction and windage losses are 500W. Determine the
efficiency and torque at s=0.05 when motor A (230V, 50 Hz,
6-pole, single phase induction) has the following constants, r1=0.12Ω r2 = 0.14Ω,
x1=x2= 0.25Ω, xm=15Ω
