The function controls gearshifting events in the transmission. Control takes place with PWM–valves that operate clutches and
brakes to handle the gearshifting events.
The transmission consists of a six gear transmission in combination with an auxiliary transmission. This gives a total of twelve
available gears, but for efficiency reasons, only nine of these (F1–F9) are used.
The transmission also has five brakes (B1–B5) and three clutches (K1–K3). Brakes are controlled by the PWM-valves
PWM4205–PWM4209, and the clutches are controlled by PWM4201–PWM4212.
Gearshifting events take place by application of clutches and brakes according to the table below (X indicates active PWM-
valve):
